The downpipes have some terrible restrictions too.

Thanks riv ! Never tried to post a vid before so hopefully I will manage
I'm very impressed with the quality and price point thanks to the euro !
Initially wanted an akra but this was a total no brainer with currency rates . The quality looks immense
Not heard anything exhaust wise on these cars except the standard sports so fingers crossed it's great

I'm not a welder but am wondering about the inside of the tube. As with your table the welds can be ground down to look lovely outside but how do you/they make the internal part of the weld not disrupt gas flow like the standard B8 exhaust. Just thinking about it now if the weld is proud or recessed it would disrupt flow and it's not like you can see it to check?

Welds on the outside - the metal builds up on the weld side, not internally. I think purge pressure welding helps but looking at mine, and seeing the system starting to be built up when I was at JCWF, there's minimal weld material on the interior.

When I referred to the dent, I was referring to the narrowing of the tube that would upset the flow - looking at Ross' OEM system, they are rife throughout the system and I suspect that many would surely upset the flow...

Ok but with the many pieces of exhaust wouldn't the internal side of the welds be recessed rather than smooth then? As apposed to a one piece tube bent? Or are these less likely to mess up the flow than the stretching of bent pipe? If you see what I mean Neil?

Not poo pooing just I see this and just wondering of the effects :)

I know mark - no poo here ;) I know what you mean...

From what I've seen the internal weld of a pipe is so minimal. Purge welding with Argon gives a flatter inner seam. When welding stainless steel, titanium and other corrosion-resistant materials, it is important to create a perfect weld environment in order to retain the desired corrosion resistance and to eliminate weld contamination. During welding, the heated weld seam is exposed to air and oxidizes if it is not protected. By filling the welded tube with argon, the internal portion of the tube is protected from the oxidizing atmosphere. This gives a weld that is structurally superior and lays flatter for less exhaust flow turbulence

All JCWF's are Argon Purged...

Beautiful, thanks Neil. I used to fill welding gas bottles for boc using co2, argon and helium. Understand their use a bit now :)
