Just had a call from the supplying dealer to say Audi have pulled my car for 'quality control' and it has been taken back to the factory.. so not shipped! They estimate it should be ready for collection in approx 10 days but can't be 100% sure.. Anyone else heard of this happening? Apparently they routinely do this, picking cars at random.

Will check with Audi UK in the morning, I'm sure they'll be able to check via order number.. hopefully they won't just refer me back to the dealer.. Annoying but not the end of the world! Though I had got my hopes up that it would be ready this week!

Just spoke to Audi UK, they have confirmed that the car has been pulled for quality control and cannot offer any further information or an idea of when it will be shipped. So just a case of being patient!

Indeed, I have a set of Dunlop winter tyres arriving this week.. so looking forward to try on both as I've not fitted them to any vehicle in the past. Graeme, did you leave your exhaust as standard in the end? I think I've seen a few threads in the past with you deliberating what to do..

Yes, still standard
I loved the sound of the miltek and capristo systems I've experienced so far, but I think it's still a bit too much for me to live with day to day
The frustrating part is that they'd be fine if they didn't automatically open at 3k rpm, which in 7th, is my motorway cruising speed. A speed where I'd want it to be low volume

I'm wondering if this is something that can be overcome. Isn't the valve opening done on pressure rather than revs...?
It's all torque talk.

I believe its controlled by the ecu, but the actuation of the valve is via vacuum

I'm useless at technicalities, but when my Cap went on I didn't see anything connected to the system at all. There are valves at the rear by the silencers, but nothing is connected to them.

I had a look on mine and the valves have a pipe to them
If you look in the spare wheel well in the boot (with a battery in it) there's a vacuum chamber which holds the pressure to actuate the exhaust when engine first starts
I might be totally wrong though
Capristo's can be controlled by a special capristo key fob though I think ?

Nope, no key fob here. I'll see if I can get a look under her arse tomorrow....

Thanks, I was looking at that thing the other day and wondering what on earth it was for.
