Yes SWS4 - just a convenient spot while we went through the formalities. Will take a few snaps and post in the next day or two.
Just Loving It !!

Re: Collect the RS4 this week
Ozzi - looks great - more photos of course please
Picked mine up at 4pm today - went for a drive, went out for dinner - it's now tucked into bed!
Mine looks just like a normal white automatic station wagon
Hardly as inspiring/ exciting looking as Ozzi's and many others ... But it's certainly a lovely thing once tucked in behind the steering wheel
Only the one photo at the dealers a few days before pickup, but more will follow ... Honest
A bit of driving planned for the weekend, mainly Sunday

Re: Collect the RS4 this week
Oh yeh, first observations:
The plastic film wrap to the front end is a well done job, just that white is probably the most unsympathetic base as you can pick the different shade between pure white paint and ever so slightly darker (maybe yellowish) film. If the car was Daytona or red you'd probably never pick it.
I seem to have exactly the same degree of slightly uncentred steering wheel as Andy_S .... Just a mm or 3 turned to the right when in the straight ahead. I don't have lane assist etc etc so hopefully will be simple tracking adjust that I'm used to.
Left foot rest seems very flat and distant compared to R36 and certainly not a natural comfort position nor a position from which to easily come up to left foot brake (anyone had /know of any mods)
The missus diligently installed her phone number into Mail Bank for phone number - thinking it was a form of speed dial, now we can't find way to delete and install correct number. Also, is there any speed dial options?
Want a non electric plastic plug for the cigarette lighter as don't want even someone accidentally firing up the heat in the cigarette lighter let alone lighting a fag. Will look on eBay for Audi/VW VAG one, similar to what I had on VW R36. Any special ideas.
Folding mirrors have worked right twice when locking car - and not worked twice - will keep playing.
All fairly minor stuff - car is lovely to drive, sounds great, is supple but all tied together nicely. Missus loves it. I'm happy

Speed dial - forgotten the 'key word' but you can just tell it to dial whoever - the system should load up all your contacts once you connect the phone via blu tooth. Still got to work our the voice thing but it is very cool to me.

Yeh, got the contacts all loaded and worked the voice activation - which was pretty good. Just trying to see if there's a short cut to: " call Bill Henry mobile", blah blah blah answer "Yes" especially when it's a favourite dial and sorting through the contacts would take dexterity and a while

Yes you can voice activate a call - not speed dial - but you can just say the name and it will do it. There is a 'key' word you need to use. Similarly you can save peoples details and addresses and use voice to call up the Nav......all a bit beyond me right now but the chap at the Shop gave me a demo and its really good if only I could remember !
Loving the car so smooth and subtle in comfort but at the flick of the levers it growls and gets up n goes.
Will post up more pics over the week-end - have only driven around town.
Have already noticed the odd Porsche and wide boy zooming up behind to have a look and a crack........good luck !

Re: Collect the RS4 this week
Thanks for the heads up Ozzi - wow ... Speed navigation straight from the contacts details - ripper
You might need to remind me of that in a day or two ... Like you I seem to be into struggling memory - mainly due to info overload. Might be an "old timers" thing
And yeh, totally agree on subtlety of comfort and then as soon as punch in Dynamic it does a lovely intro BOP and settles into a growl.
Would be off to get sleep preparation for tomorrow, but big kid excitement still activated. It would be boring to actually grow old, rather than just adding numbers to my age ...

Re: Collect the RS4 this week
May have to save contact address to favourites ??
Re: Collect the RS4 this week
Mine is more like 40-50mm out, and then some. If it's a few mm that's normal, every car they've lent me including the RSQ3 is like that, just slightly out for camber on the road. Please don't let my issues make you paranoid about your car, mine is way worse than a few mm.Astonished wrote: I seem to have exactly the same degree of slightly uncentred steering wheel as Andy_S .... Re: Collect the RS4 this week
Thanks Andy
Mine is probably out about 15mm to 20mm at the rim.
If it was just a few mm I'd probably be ok. I've already done the camber check etc ... And hey, don't worry about your "bad" influence
ha ha ha ... As I've always been perfectly capable of being anal all on my own about the steering wheel angle for years now
It's just good to know that others share the same frustration for things that aren't "quite right". Of course the world is not made up of identikit clones such that some are also happy with those sort of "things"
As they said in the classics: "we're all individuals" except some days I might not be !
Oh yeh, they'll be asked to "adjust the wheel" at the 1,000 km check up.
