I think my issue was that I have not sat in an RS4 for over a year so have no real memory of it...whereas after selling my gtr I then went in a friends new 2014 gtr which was massive step forward over my 2010...then when buying our 1 series I sat in lots of nice bmw ' s and really liked them and love our 1 series...then I saw a battleship grey rs6 at weekend and was moved by how nice it looked and felt connected...I seem to have just become disconnected with the rs4...am sure it will be fine and I will love it when here...I hope!Astonished wrote:So still thinking of cancelling?Henry 14555 wrote:Apparently arrived in UK today and will be with dealer within 10 days...confused of Dorset!
I'd have vacuumed and polished the garage floor 3 times in anticipation by now .....

Re: The Waiters' Thread...
Update from dealer build week 17:
Car is currently a Quality Check point 8. Spoke to the Audi Sales Office at Milton Keynes and they reckon it should hopefully leave the Factory mid-end next week.

Mine must be at a similar stage I assume. You got a much more detailed update though.denabs wrote:Update from dealer build week 17:

Hey Henry .... Sounds like you need to go sit in one at a dealers just to refresh those excitement nerves/senses!Henry 14555 wrote:I think my issue was that I have not sat in an RS4 for over a year so have no real memory of it...whereas after selling my gtr I then went in a friends new 2014 gtr which was massive step forward over my 2010...then when buying our 1 series I sat in lots of nice bmw ' s and really liked them and love our 1 series...then I saw a battleship grey rs6 at weekend and was moved by how nice it looked and felt connected...I seem to have just become disconnected with the rs4...am sure it will be fine and I will love it when here...I hope!Astonished wrote:So still thinking of cancelling?Henry 14555 wrote:Apparently arrived in UK today and will be with dealer within 10 days...confused of Dorset!

I know that I'd been umming and erring over the choice of my replacement car. Was it to be the practical and economical Passat replacement (even though they don't make an R36 anymore) or was it to be more the more emotive that tugs at the heart as well as satisfying the head. The missus and I had tried RS4's with salesmen chauffeurs (one dealer even had an 11,000km RS4 on the showroom floor but wouldn't let me drive it - his loss) passats, V60 pole stars, C63's etc etc ... And after a few months of getting a bit jaded but still "wanting" the RS4 we got invited to an RS drive day at a nearby dealer .... And I said "I want to drive the RS4 with electric seats etc etc" - and they said "drive whichever ones you want" they had the RS4 we wanted to drive and we also drove an RS6 (lovely but a bit too big in feel), an RS5 convertible and were lining up for an R8 but ran out of time. So ... The missus (helping me decide by being my sobering "head" practical influencer) loved the RS4 and the deal was done. In essence, get your arse into the seat as that will rekindle the love.
Good luck from a poor bastard who still has months to wait ...

Henry
I should have also added that we will totally understand you being impressed by the GTR. A lovely piece of machinery. But somehow she's an extremely fast and desirable mistress, whereas the RS4 is the loving wife who is also a MILF ... And a damn hot MILF at that ....
So if I had to have only one ..... But perhaps two is a good number.

Ha ha the GTR is more like a dirty slag!
It should be with dealer next week so going down to see it and hopefully fall back in love...popped into BMW yesterday to get something sorted on our 1 series and they were trying to tempt me into m3 and m4...but that would be months till it arrives

Re: The Waiters' Thread...
Well mines apparently left the factory and on route to the docks!
Re: The Waiters' Thread...
Quick update on mine !!!!
Ordered my car on the 20th February, and was told approximate delivery time would be late June, early July. A few weeks later, I was informed they were able to get me an earlier build slot which I was more than happy to accept.
I received a letter from Audi dated the 9th April confirming production of my car, to be delivered and available for handover on the the third week in May !
I received a call from the dealer today (6th May) to say my car will be with them Thursday or Friday this week and should be available for collection on Tuesday. (Just enough time for PDI checks and cleaning)
Ordered 20th February
Collection 13th May
So less than a week away now !!!! Happy to say the least !!!!
