Delivery pre study required....

Post by RS4b8NewOwner » Tue Jan 28, 2014 1:14 am

like most other users on here I am am man. Like the majority of our species I attempt to get through life without the need to refer to operating instructions/manual! This goes for most things ranging from alarm clocks, tv's , computers etc. when it is obvious I need help, I attempt to get by, wait for the wife to go then dig out the manual. anyway you get the picture.

It's all about to change for me though as I have about 35 days to go to take delivery of the rs4. I need some prestudy and wondered if any one could point me in the right direction for a PDF version online of the operation manual for the rs4. I can only find the a4 one. I am interested to read about launch control, maintenance , adaptive cruise , running the engine in from new etc etc.

It's official I am now a geek. Can't wait though and for those in a similar position I guess you feel the same., if your interested this is my ordered spec....

I'd be happy to see some pics if the OP would be happy to share. Not a fan of fakes but I am happy to see anyway.

Thanks in advance.

I was hoping this website was more about intellectual sharing of infomation and a common ground we can talk about rs4's. I don't mind a laugh but is this the level....really? I have removed the picture of my options list from Audi, I am new to his website , all the best James

Welcome to the forum.....there are many uptight individuals on here with a sense of humour they assume to be universal but is often not.

Just wait for the car to arrive and then play or you'll have nothing to look forward to like training it to recognise your voice, adjust the setup and trying not to crash it. :)

Do we still get to see some boobies ? I'd hate to have had to read down 6 posts to find nothing at all ?? haha

Sorry OP, we are actually a reasonably mature bunch, but I think it's fair to say you'll get some lower level humour at some point if you're hanging around

Where are you getting your car from ? Bet you can't wait

if there's anything specific you need from the Manaul, let me know and I'll do my best to scan a few pages in

As Graeme said the forum can be serious but also has good banter.

Order Order ! Bringing some gravity to proceedings. Not op's manual but it may distract the topic away from 'norks' ?!

I have some pre-delivery questions.
Does the engine need running in? I asked the dealer and they told me "to spank it from new". Is this correct because I am sceptical about this.
Also, how bad for the car is launching it? I assume doing this every time the lights go green will drastically shorten the life of the clutch and gearbox. I also assume Mr Audi can plug the car in and find out how often it's been launched and therefore void any warrantee claims. Can anybody verify this?
