The wait is killing me!!!

and its only been a week since I ordered my RS4.... I might have to get my Impreza back on the road to help me!!

Thought I would give you my spec as I am sure there are some common components that everyone gets and then other personnel choices...

Sepang Blue
Advanced key
Convenience package
Heated front seats
High-beam assist
Door mirrors – electrically folding and auto dimming with memory function
Bang & Olufsen sound system
Reversible load floor mat
Sports package
Technology package – Advanced

In trying to order this I have experienced the worst side of Audi dealers and very nearly gave up and got another Range Rover, but luckily I went to Cambridge Audi and after the experiences from 2 Essex Audi garages I can not rate Cambridge high enough. Great people who know how to treat people properly!!

Which Essex dealerships did you try? My experience with one is pretty poor.

We first went Chelmsford, test drove an RS6 told the dealer we wanted to try the RS4 as well, he tried to call me once but I was in a meeting with a client, how rude of to work... Tried to ring him back and never got a return call.

Tried Colchester but they are only approved Audi so I couldnt test drive an RS model there, they were polite just unfortunate. They told me to go to South End

Book an appointment with South End to test drive the RS4, got there to find the person we had the appointment with had taken a few days off. Not a great start. Got to speak to some smarmy salesman who sat down with us, told us that the RS4 wasnt in and even though I had only mentioned Estates tried to sell me an RS5, at that point I loudly declared that Essex Audi were a bunch of jokers, they had wasted to much of my time and stormed out.

Cambridge Audi can not be faulted at all, great garage, nice welcome to the garage, great salesman and true service

.....that all figures. Chelmsford is my local and they've failed to sell me a car.

Stansted are OK by comparison.

I've only dealt with Cambridge on the service side, they were good.

The wait is killing me too! Great spec, lovely colour.

When I your build date set for and when have they told you to expect collection? I got a slot on week 44 and was told this week that it would be delivered end of Nov or beginning of Dec. Placed the order on Monday.

I went to three dealers in the process.
1. West London: Very nice people, gave me a test drive but were not into discount in the same way I was. I got the impression most people there just walk in and buy.
2. Maidstone: Called, they gave me a quote but nothing special and never called me back.
3. Bristol: Called them, they were brilliant. Polite and never patronising. Both the salesman and the finance dept never tried to sell me anything. They made me an offer that I could not refuse, then realised they had missed off £900 of options and honoured the price they had quoted me, matched the best GAP quote I could find even though theirs is back to invoice and the others are just back to £25k. Placed the order over the phone and will only ever use them. Hopefully ordering an A6 for my Dad there even though neither of us live near Bristol. Excellent experience start to finish and all over the phone.

Hi, Maybe I will get mine sooner than I fear then, the garage would only have submitted the order on Monday so we might not be too far apart depending on how they allocate the build times....

Doodlebug, yes Chelmsford is my local too, I went in there 3 years ago and no one ever rang me back so I went down the road and bought a supercharged range rover sport.... Terrible service...

Worth calling as there was a special allocation of extra production slots for RS4's and R8's but only if requested by the dealer. I had to tell the sales chap about it as another dealer had told me the info. Otherwise I was looking at a march delivery.

Hmm that is very interesting... I have spoken to my sales person and he wasnt aware, but is going to speak to his sales manager now and they will raise this with the RS people on Monday.... If this comes off and I get my car this year then I owe you a drink!!!

Great news Dave, I had exactly the same response, they spoke to their RS chap and came back with the good news. Really hope it works out for you as it did me.

Got what's known as "the bums rush", the dealer rang Audi, they said there were no other slots available, so I'm left with wk47 build and a must be delivered by 31st Dec requirement to receive the financial contribution the deal was based on.
Gonna be tight.
