NICKYBOY on your car Its down by the cupholder along with the parking sensor button and esp buttons because you do not have tech pack or mmi .ON cars with tech pack and mmi those buttons would in a row above the heater controls .

NICKYBOY is correct the A button is for hill hold assist ive got it on mine {2010} S4 model and don't have start stop.
Yes he is, I stand corrected! The button for the hill hold is very similar to the start stop - well it has an A on it!

It activates when you step on the brake pedal and come to a complete stop. If you do that then the car wont move unless you step on the accelerator. It will also disengage after 2 seconds if you are not stepping on the brake pedal. The auto brake is another features that is like the hill hold but works regardless of the situation and it is very annoying. Most people do not use it.
You clearly don't know what your on about,i suggest you look at the cars handbook.
I ran a S4 for 2 years and during that time it is my understanding that they are 2 separate systems. My car would not roll back even without the "A" button engaged. Maybe you should read the manual again instead?

Yes you're right. I have MMI and the other parts of tech pack low just not the nav and location of the controls. I was too poor and early in my working life to justify the extra cost basically. Next time.
