Hi, ordered mine abt 2 weeks ago...1st RS4 order at the new Audi City dealership in London. Noticed your spec is v similar to mine except panther black, however did you get the Vspoke alloys included in the Sports Pack in the end or did you have to pay for the Sports Pack and then spec the Vspoke alloys additionally.

I tried to pay for the sports pack plus the additional cost of the Vspoke alloys over the Rotor alloys but my dealer said this wasnt possible.

Think mine's not going to arrive until Jan 13, depending on exact date I may wait for the 13 plate.

He phoned Audi and discussed it with them what he had to put on the system get sports pack and v spokes as substitute.

I don't know how he did it, just know he did!

All in same price.

It is possible if you pay 1,350 extra for sure. Even works on the online configurator. Not sure how 535dboy got the swap for free! By the way getting it in January of you ordered two weeks ago is pretty inprrssive.. Some of us put deposits down months ago and only get it in December.. I guess the order book is not that full..

I do believe take up has been slower than they wanted.

I think more people are wanting to drive before buying.

Genau - especially after the lukewarm reception relating to the anodyne handling of the RS5?

Georg Kacher rated the handling as being superior to the RS5 & he's driven everthing & is a confirmed Audiphile.

Given the lukewarm (at best) reception the RS5 has had that isn't exactly a ringing endorsement.

Just for you then Dave.........

How the RS4 leaves you feeling

Rather like the Alpina D5, or the Boxster S, the new RS4 is not primarily a numbers car. It doesn't rely only on a cracking top speed, a best-in-class acceleration time or a record g-force to collect it's brownie points. This Audi is stronger than the sum of it's data. It may not be the fastest, but it has finally learned to open up and share it's newly found talents with the driver. In more ways than one, the RS4 feels like an estate car relative of the Skyline GT-R. It is very quick where most competitors are off the pace. It relishes exploring the virtues of 4wd. It acknowledges that there is a fourth dimension, beyond grip, traction & roadholding. It no longer concentrates on plotting the most efficient line from A to B. Instead, the midsize RS model has discovered fresh qualities such as balance, involvement, interaction.

To our immense relief - and hopefully, also to Audi's - it has succeeded in maturing from the pragmatic but soulless perfection of the early RS5 to a more accessible, more controllable and ultimately more competent Q-car.

It is a descendant the RS2 can be proud of.

Georg Kacher, Car magazine July 2012

Looks as though 535DBoy has got himself not one but two signature cars then?

Interesting reading.

These things are always so personal though aren't they. As long as I like it then I'm happy, and I am confident that it will be good enough for me. I have a minor concern over the steering and ride but it shouldn't be enough to dilute my enjoyment of it

I haven't read a bad word about the Porsche other than the stupid coasting function which autocar and Harris have picked up on. I agree with them both and it switches off when in sport or sport plus. Given I drive it 95% of the time in sport plus mode then it doesn't bother me. It is a cracking car and dare I say it night and day better than our mk 2 V6 TT was.

Lest we forget - Kacher has actually driven/thrashed the B8 RS4 - (with DRC) - PetrolDave has not.
So whose opinion should we take more notice of until we all have the opportunity to drive the car?

Lots of people know the price of everything but the value of nothing.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion - isn't that what a forum is all about?

I'm sure that you'll be absolutely delighted with your new purchase.

Bring it on......

Congratulations - a great choice IMHO
