Squeaking Brakes

Morning All!

Just a quickie to see if anyone else on here has squealing brakes when braking softly (ie when in traffic)? I took it into Aberdeen Audi and they've told me that's how it is - something to do with the style of discs as that's what happens on an S3......sounds like they're trying to fob me off to be honest. :audibash:

Any replies would be appreciated as it all smells a bit fishy!

Cheers,
Chris

The performance oriented the discs and (mainly) the pads are then they have a higher ceramic content. This is what makes them squeal at low pressure and speeds - they are operating out of their comfort zone.
Some pads are better and worse then others.

However coppaslip on the back of the pads and properly fitted anti-squal clips can help.
Worth going for a spirited drive to get the brakes up to a good working temperature and try again.

That all do it, mine was doing it with 60 miles on the clock

A small price to pay for the monumental Stopping power

If it really bugs you yellow stuff pads may stop it or they may make it worse :)

can also happen if you're not using the brakes enough - think of it as a warning on pad material build up.
Go for a fun spirited drive and see if the problem goes away.
