Hi All
I have a Suzuka grey RS3 on order build week 16 which is 16th April, hopefully this year.
When it finally arrives I will have been waiting 16 months.
How long has, did anyone else wait for their RS3 ??
Did Audi give any compo, loan car, discount etc while waiting ???
I have had 2 A5 cabs over the last year from Audi as I was originally told July 2011 delivery which never happened and now car is getting closer I am looking at some sort of compo or may tell them what they can do with car.
Some nice looking RS3s on here are you all please with them after the wait???

its all relative i guess to what you drive
but to me they are defiantly worth the wait imo, the engine is one of the best audi have ever made and the car is so hooked up for a hatch back
if there loaning you a car i wouldn't be after compo, i might ring audi CS and nicely explain as you have been so patient can they chuck in the 5 year warranty
suzuka grey is stunning as well

That does sound like an awful long wait.
Does your car have any Audi Exclusive items on it which could have delayed it being scheduled for build?

13 months until the Dealership concerned pissed about and upset me...

Now have a spanking Sprint Blue one thanks to two members off of this very forum

, was gonna be Suzuka Grey too. But more than happy with what I've got.
Have you not received anything from Audi this very weekend?

I would like to say ages but in my case <1week as picked up a cancelled order after a certain snooker player named Ronnie tried to play hardball and negotiate a discount. The dealer told him where to stick his cue, registered the car and then sold it to me. Daytona grey with pretty much every option outside of Audi exclusive items.
My thoughts would be if you can find a decent spec second hand (8 on pistonheads now) pick one of them up and sell your new one when it eventually arrives - probably end up saving a few quid also...

Ordered last July, a cancelled order that had already been placed. I wanted to drive the car before ordering so I was always in for a wait and the dealer set expectations accordingly. I knew it was always MY12 and with Exclusive paint the lead time was always going to be long. I didn't want one of the standard colours, so I paid my money and took my choice.

Thanks for the replies.
No, no special or exclusive options.
As for loan car we used the brochure policy “if car is delayed we will provide a courtesy car to keep you Mobil” had one since July last year had to insure but no other costs.
Already have 5 year warranty option !

Suzuka grey
Buckets, Bose, privacy glass, light rain sensors, folding mirrors, black styling pack, int light pack, cruise,5 year warranty

still no reason why you can ask for the warranty to be a freebee for your patients, its pretty much a paperwork exercise for audi as its not a physical thing, you only have a few weeks left anyway

Hi guys, I waited about 4/5 weeks as it was a cancelled order luckily to spec and colour, I did go to Audi when the rs3 was first rumoured but didn't think i could take the Huge wait but hey got her in the end and am over the moon or further even.
As to asking for the extended 5 year apparently this cannot be added as it is an extra when bought at the start along with the car as I suggested this to Audi to chuck in ontop when I traded me Bmw in so instead I got somthing else to the same value so it must be right what Audi said as they still parted with the same amount of money , seems madness even Audi didn't understand but they were happy to look after me
GO AUDI!!

I went to the local dealership within 48 hours of Audi announcing the RS3 in November 2010. I placed a deposit down, although official "waitlist" was not open...
I was able to spec my car around January/February 2011. I was told that hopefully, we'd be looking at late Q2/early Q3 of 2011, but was also informed that the plant was only churning out about 10 UK cars per week. Quite how true or untrue that was, I'm not sure. After the odd change to spec which I was able to do, I was told to expect the car towards the end of summer.
That then changed to the end of September...then mid October...then end October...and so on. Got fed the line that although built, the car as it was an RS was undergoing more stringent tests... Audi UK did not feel that a courtesy car was called for and that "I have not been put out by the delay." Tossers. The dealership felt otherwise and after I had sold my prized Edition 30 GTI, I was without wheels for about 5 weeks. I hired a run-a-round for 6 days until the dealership hooked me up with an A3 until the RS3 arrived. Though they did stress that they were being put out by this. I had nothing to pay save fuel.
I eventually got the car at the end of November 2011, just days over a year from when I placed any cash down for it. Plus to rub salt into it, there was a "misbuild" on the passenger door with a misplaced lock/unlock button.Up till now, I've had a wheel bearing changed and the steering "aligned." This is going to be addressed, as the car now drifts to the left when the steering wheel is in the dead ahead position; it used to drift right...
Who really knows the ins and outs of the true reasons behind delays is anyone's guess. I reckon only a few folk know, truly, and my whole impression of this experience has left me feeling that the trade, or at least how it is played on the
Shop floor it well and truly bent. Regardless of what I was told, I just saw smokescreens...greasy salesmen trying to get their hands on hard earned cash and making excuses in their cheap shoes and suits and pseudo-designer stubble. Pointless trying to see through it, I found it doesn't get the car to the UK shore any quicker....
Enjoy your new car. It's a real belter.
