Well guys I picked up my rs3 this morning drove down the road all of a sudden it started to beep at me and said I have brake failure get to Audi immediately then the abs light came on then the traction light came on then the battery light kept flickering , I got back to Audi with it as I was only down the road and am now awaiting a call with whats wrong with it and how long it's gonna be, I'm gutted to say the least , Audi has gave me a new a8 as a stand in but its like a boat with wheels and far away from my sort of thing,

Anyone had this issue or heard of it before?
Cheers

I feel for you. I got my RS in October, which I only really use on the very odd occasions. It now has 860miles.
Anyway to get to the point somewhere around 700 miles i had an issue with a warning for the leveling of the light on the dash board. I booked the car in the next day. On the way to the garage I had the ABS failure and ESP messgae. Also said take to your local Audi garage, which was fortunate as I was heading there anyway.

The dealer then checked and reset the computer and then check the wiring of the dash and awaited feed back from the home land. They tried to make the fault occur again with out any luck. They had the car for around a week. I now have the car back and I have not had any issues with it since. However I aim to use the RS more often to tease out any other gremlins.

Also there is another 3 which was delivered at the same time as mine which I believe had a problem with the ABS and they had to wait 6 weeks to have the faulty part replaced. This info came through a 3rd party so I can't vouch for how accurate it is.

Hopefully your dealer will sort this out soon for you. It doesn't help your confidence in the car.

Sounds like a duff battery or voltage regulator.
Modern cars consume so much battery power these days that batteries are crucial. Any issues with below parr battery/excessive currnt drain/poor voltage regulation or maybe something as simple as someone left an interior light on can cause the issue you have experienced.
Hope it gets fixed soon.

Thanks for the input guys, I got a call today from Audi and was told they have been advised to change a ecu or similar as they suspect the one in my car is from an s3 not an rs3 which was put in by mistake, I'm not gonna hold my breath for tomorrow afternoon as this ecu swap isn't 100% the problem , I personally think battery issues too but surely would Audi have overlooked the simplist of fixed I.e new battery?

Who knows I'm just crossing my fingers lol

I can't see that it would have left the factory with an S3 ECU, that would caused all manner of issues. Quality on RS3s does seem to be iffy. There's one car that had drivers side door equipment in both front doors. FFS!

I had mine for 7 weeks and I'm so pleased to be back in a TTRS, the interior creaked like hell and there was all kings of weird noises would come from the engine bay on start up, which aren't present on all 3 of the TTRS I've owned..

Certainly not Audis finest hour..

Is this your own car. Or do you work at the dealership? Any pictures?

Guys I resisted posting the issues I had before because I wasn't a 100% that it was down to the lack of use and I didn't want to create a negative thread.
The fault hasn't return so far so time will only tell. Apart from that the car turned up as ordered and is everything I expected. The dealer has dealt with the issue I did have in a professional manor.

You should still not have any fault issues on a £40K plus car due to lack of use no matter how many miles you are doing.
