Hi everyone,I currently own a mk6 golfR,would need to sell soon as the misses wants a baby & the golfR boot is too small for baby prams etc etc,was wondering if the s3 sportback has the same size boot as the rs3 as there's
A s3 at my local dealer that I might go & have a look..

A quick Google suggest the Golf boot space is 380 litres with the seats up and 1270 with them down, but an A3 Sportback is 380 litres with the seats up and 1220 with them down.
So if you need more boot space then an RS3 probably isn't the right choice.

You'll want a '4 platform for putting prams etc into! B8 S4 maybe? A lot more car for your money

I've been seriously thinking about a b8 s4 but are they as quick as a rs3

No. But you can always tune it.

You'll be driving like Miss Daisy with a newborn in the back, a S4 will be plenty quick enough

Also consider the rear leg room in the back for baby seats. Baby seats are rear facing and there is new legislation coming in to keep them rear facing for longer. These seats are pretty big, so consider your / your Mrs seating position and whether the seats will fit behind and give you enough room in the front. You'd be surprised how much room they take up.

If the Golf R is too small the RS3 will also be too small, dimensions will be very similar.
With the rear legroom for baby seats, the B8 Saloon definitely feels like it has less than a Mk7 Golf.
B8 S4 Saloon/Avant or B8 RS4 would be a good choice.

I have a baby on the way and an RS3 on the way.
Boot size is the same as the A3/S3.
I've test fitted the pram we are getting and it goes in the boot no problem (also fits in the MiL A1 no problem too) - and I mean the whole frame and the carry cot bit - plus you can put the other baby paraphernalia in the carry cot for transport in the car too.
The Maxi Cosi i-Size (new rear facing for 15 months regs) seat we are getting fits in also no problem - so long as you don't have the seat in right back in the rear foot well. It will be behind the passenger seat anyway, so it's not going to impede my driving.

.
I believe the boot is smaller on the S3 SB compared to a basic A3 SB by around 40ltrs.

Is that the Two Way Pearl? I thought it was pretty massive TBH, but it depends on how much leg room the people in the front need. I take it your plan is to put it behind the passenger seat? In which case, make sure you don't have any more

unless you are Hobit sized or can drive with your knees at your ears.

Two way pebble plus, and then the pearl after 15 months yes.
If/when we have more we'll move up to an RS4 I expect.

Happy days then. Of course yeah, forgot the Pebble was the baby one. Have you checked the Pearl fits too for when you make the move? Assume you've gone for this this so you can utilise the same base, etc?
