Few questions about the RS3

Hi there, I am after a bit of advice,
I am hoping to be selling my Rs4 in the next month to get something a bit different for the summer,

I am very tempted to get a GTR but I am very interested still in the RS3+ its a bit easier on the pocket,
Has anyone gone from a RS4 B7 to the RS3 and can share the difference in both good and bad?
I have not driven one as yet but have seen one locally for sale at a very good independent garage that has caught my eye,

One niggle is it does not have buckets, was this an option? if so would retro fitting them be a big/expensive job?
coming from a S3 then the RS this would be a must for me,

Also is there any things to look for, known faults etc?

thanks.

I moved from an RS4 to an RS3 and absolutely loved it, such a great little car :thumb:

Go and test drive the local car, you won't be disappointed!

Buckets were an option, I haven't had them in any of my RS cars as I detest them, but there are plenty of them about so just check Autotrader etc.

Retro fit would be circa £2k at a guess so if you really want them just buy one with them.

If you need anymore info just let me know :)

Thanks for the reply,
How do they compare against each other?
I love the Rs4 and to be honest tempted to keep one more year, but fancy a change and want to make a good decision.
cheers

That seams odd, because on the spec lists i have for the + cars (not available in the UK) buckets where one of the options included

In the UK I would not buy an RS with buckets, there is an epidemic of them being stolen as they can be sold on ebay for a lot very quickly and can be taken out of the car through the window so the alarm does not go off (all RS cars)

Once stolen (in the UK) the car is normally a write off as the cost of replacing the buckets from Audi is £19,000 for some very strange reason, there is a thread on this forum of an RS3 owner who had his buckets stolen from his RS3 when it was new and the insurance company wrote it off :(

The leather on them can also stetch and go saggy and they can be uncomfortable on long trips

they do look good thou :biggrin3:

here is the thread, on page 5 spirit says the cost of replacing the seats, steering wheel, glass and alarm sensors was £22,000 !!!! :audibash:

I've bought x3 sets of brand new recaro Audi bucket seats from a contact direct from recaro factory for £2.5k over the last two years.

So quite why noone picks up the phone to recaro instead of bending over to Audi, I really don't know...
