RS3 Recall

Post by Dave_Hedgehog » Fri Sep 07, 2012 1:16 pm

Mines being done as I type this

Got an A3 oil burner DSG with stop / start tech lol

I had no idea you could get stop / start on a duel clutch

Worked brilliantly in 180mins of horrific london Olympic traffic this morning returning 41mpg !!!

Couldnt be more dull to drive ;)

mine is now done

the dealer said there was a software update as well mentioned on the instructions, no idea what it was for

however when i picked the car up the steering wheel was 5% of centre to the nearside and the cars pulling to the left

:audibash: :bash: :audibash: :bash: :audibash: :bash: :audibash: :bash: :audibash:

:knob:

hopefully its going in for a full geo, my service guy was ace about it

a suspicious person might think someone had deliberately wound a couple of turns on it

Dealer said no update so rang Audi UK, two updates for my car, vent and software.. Was trying to get more out of the person on the phone regarding the software update but he was just saying 'all it states is a software update' lol

I had a letter last month from Audi uk advising me of a complimentary software update for the sat nav, offer valid until the end of September. I guess this is because mine is a late 2011 car with 2011 issue dvd, newer cars will have the 2012 disc? No mention about the vents though

Had my car delivered last Tuesday, it was delayed because of the 2 recalls, I was told the air vent thing and a software update on the DSG?

just got my car back after having a full geo test

steering wheel is straight again and the car sits straight on the road, its very noticeable that its not leaning on the offside wheel anywhere near as much as it was on hard cornering

everyone is at a loss as to how it went out after having the recall done :bash:

cars absolutely perfect again, love it sooo much :jump:

walton audi guys superb as well

think i have just agreed to buy an R8 :biggrin2:

Had my first service done today at Watford Audi. They told me there was a recall on the cars relating to improved ventilation through the front bumper. Mine does now have the blanking plate with holes and it took about 30 min to install. Don't know whether it has anything to do with squeaky brakes. Mine squeak at low speeds but otherwise OK. Doesn't bother me and I've not mentioned it to the dealer.
On a different subject, anyone any experience with replacement tyres? I wrecked one a few weeks ago and it seemed that only Continental makes tyres for the RS 3 and these are only available through Audi. Talked to them about some sort of spacesaver wheel/tyre from elsewhere in the Audi range. They thought there might just be a possibility for the rear but not for the front due to the size of the disk and caliper.
