Hi all,
Finally returning to my beloved RS fold after a 3 year gap.
About to order a new RS5.
Choice to make: the 10-spoke 19" alloys or the 20" 5-spoke titanium alloys?
Things to consider:
- car will be in Suzaka Grey
- I'll be in hot and sweaty Alabama USA, with American quality roads (highways with questionable road surfaces and big American curbs)
I have opinions... but keen to hear your input without colouring it with my thoughts!
19s:
20s:

+2 it's a no brainer, I wouldn't even consider an RS with those 19s.

yep 20" rotors on the RS5 are the dogs closely followed by the V spokes

30 profile tyres with US freeway craters and jumbo curbs everywhere

Having worked there a while back I'd go for the 19s and tires with reasonable rim protection.
Rather have 19s in good condition over constantly damaged 20s.
I'd pop a set of spacers on front and rear from GMP performance in NC to improve appearance of smaller rim

If you are worried about the profile height go a size wider as this will maintain the profile eg if you go from a 265/30/20 to a 275/30/20 you will have the same profile height as a 265/35/19. This means the overall height is a bit more but only by an acceptable amount ie your speedo will still be approximately correct.

Running non-standard Tyre sizes on a brand new $70,000 car will probably leave you on your own should you need warranty on the Quattro system......

Well cheers for all the input guys.
Having been driving around here for the last week in a Chrysler 300 rental, and caught the curb a couple of times whilst parking (who knew parallel parking was so difficult looking over your other shoulder?!), combined with the road conditions.... I've opted for the 19".
Got her ordered today.
On the plus side, Alabama doesn't require a front number plate, so I get that beautiful RS5 front grill uninterrupted by a big plate!
Will post some pics when I get her.
