77,700 Euros equates to £68,376 at 88p to the Euro.

I can imagine a £75k +RS5 with ceramics, solar sunroof, double glazing etc etc. Maybe we think this is expensive in the UK, but maybe it's OK for other countries.

77,700 Euros from just 3 years ago (65p against current 88p) would have been about £50k sterling.

So maybe Audi UK will pitch the UK cars at a more competitive price - £60k anyone?

I doubt it will be that high, sims posted this earlier in the thread:

Thanks. the pricing discussion is helpful:

Just took a look at what the UK price might be for the RS5 based on KresoF1's €80k start price in Germany and how other performance Audis are priced comparatively. I think £58-£60k for this car is about right in the UK given the M3 is £52k. Of course this is a very rough estimation of UK pricing but a straight £-€ exchange is not how they are priced.

€ in Germany £ in UK Conversion

RS6 € 108,400 £ 74,555 69%
TTRS € 55,800 £ 42,985 77%
R8 V8 € 109,100 £ 82,555 76%
R8 V10 € 144,400 £ 103,265 72%
R8 Spyder € 151,800 £ 111,955 74%

73% Average
73% Weighted Av.

RS5 € 80,000 £ 58,679 Average
£ 61,627 Max
£ 55,022 Min

Basic price is likely to be at the low end of that scale.

Pictures on Auto Express's website.

Wonder what they've done to get 444bhp from 'our' engine............

Also redesigned key components, and different materials? Also P_G mentioned dual throttle and something else..

Yes I think it has dual throttle bodies and three air intakes, whereas the RS4 and a single throttle body and one air intake.

Whatever it is, I expect they will have done enough to ensure this does not happen. Good fuel, it seems, will be crucial.

seconded. I really liked it when I was in it at Autosport. OK, it's not Audi quality, but it's still a nice car.

And £20k odd cheaper! And thats comparing it with a "basic" RS5!

Build quality doesn't really bother me, as the GTR is not poor in any respects
