UK/EU - RS5 19" wheel recommendation

Post by CraigV8 » Fri Oct 24, 2014 8:19 am

My RS5 has landed on UK shores and I should take my first seat in it in around a weeks time.
I have ordered the 20 inch V spokes.

Can anyone recommend somewhere to get a set of 19 inch wheels with winter rubber in UK (or EU) that I can run for a few months?
Idea is to be keeping my 20's in the garage in tip top condition for the more favourable weather.

Don't mind a good quality replica.

I've never gone for winter tyres previously, but thought I'd give them a try and see what all the fuss is about.

There's normally a few on ebay. I would stick oem. Tyres I would look at camskill tyres. You should be able to get kitted out for under 2k.
I just bought some titanium 20" rotors from a member on here which were brand new for 1200 and is looking at vredestein tyres which will cost aprox 800.

Personally I'd go for the OEM 19x9" with 265/35 R19 tyres. OEM look, no insurance hassles, you know they will clear brakes, no spacers, no different wheel bolts etc, instant resale

(tyres I believe should be 265 not 255)

The above are RS4 wheels but should be fine for the RS5.

Another option is to find a set of the normal RS5 19" 5 spoke design wheels which most people upgraded from when spec'ing the car from new, they are 19x9j et 24. However, Audi used the same design for the factory winter setup they offer which is a 19x8j et26 wheel. Personally, I think the 8j's would look rubbish being very narrow and I'd only consider those if you lived in countries with regular heavy snowfall.

The below link is a single 9j version, I found a full set for £500 last year and then put a new set of winter tyres on them for £800.

That it Sam - UK factory fit RS4 and RS5 19s and 20s are the same specs, offsets, widths etc, and there are two styles of the 19x9s as you say

(and yes I'd avoid the 8 inch wide European winter wheel unless you live in the Highlands of Scotland!)
