Anyone had any tuning work done by MRC?

Post by Noyjatat » Sun Aug 10, 2014 1:51 pm

I was wondering if any of you guys have had the stage 1 or 2 tune by MRC. They did a great job with my RS4 and I reckon I will be heading back there in the next couple of months but wondered if anyone on here has had their RS5's bonnet lifted, which tune they went for and what sort of figures were achieved?

I am good friends with the guys down at MRC Tuning and knock about with their top fabricator. Mine was one of the first rs5 they had worked on I believe but was only in for a milltek system no under bonnet mods yet! They was talk of mine being a development car for them to get some products and figures for reference. I am also keen on getting stage 1/2 done to go with the exhaust, I would be keen to hear the results if you was to get work done before me!
Cheers Dan

Cheers for the info buddy. My biggest concern is needing to map the gearbox to the mods on the engine.

Yes that's prob best bet to do gearbox map too as there is a torque limit on the gearbox I believe. Best bet is to email doug at MRC Tuning with a enquiry.

Yeah he did a great job on my last one. Gonna get a few grand put to one side as the stage 2 alone is a grand, nevermind a gearbox map and then speak to them. Got a RR day coming up at Surrey RR so will have a baseline to work from. Also want to get the carbon clean done which is another grand so gotta put quite a few pennies away to get it all done in a single hit.

Not sure you are going to get much bang for buck mate...the RS 5's run 430-440PS. So you might get 10-20PS for a few grand and you won't even notice it

Just spend it on fuel and Nurburgring lap tickets

Fair one. Maybe put it in the piggy bank for the APR SC down the line. Some are running 507 bhp with a good exhaust and map. But I agree it's something I will think on. Got lots of bits to do first but in time as the list shortens I will have a rethink.

My bad its 507 and 504 by Senner tuning on two RS5'S, both pre face lift. The first was a few years ago, the second was this year.

Yes it's a lot of money to not gain a lot, which is a shame. The supercharger would be the awesome but that's a few pennies! I would be happy to get mine near the 500bhp mark then I will look to sourcing a set of ceramics
