And so long as they keep it under 1650kgs. :)

With all option boxes ticked including ceramics , I suppose 70k would be feasible.

Looks better than expected, always thought the S5 was a little fat at the back. An RS6 saloon with square lines may still look better but will have to check out the RS5 in the flesh.

The talk is of the V8 we have but putting out 450bhp....However will it be 450 bhp or will it be down on power like our cars??

If its the same engine the same valve deposits surely??? Or do Audi now know about this issue and have they mitigated it??

Thoughts.

waaaay to expensive these days and the depreciation is an eye opener as well...AND THE 900 quid first year road tax and the cost of feeding it as well you would need to be well healed to fund it or fortunate enough to have it as a company car.

should be in the high 30-early 40k price range.... 60k for a car now is frankly o.tt

Who says the RS4 is down on power? And 450 bhp is possible thanks to twin throttle bodies rather than an single one in the RS4, more air into the engine with revised intakes and different mapping.

As for valve deposits, let's not go there.

That's one issue that blighted the recent RS cars, expect those built by Porsche.

Also heard that they will be using one of engines from a group company - Porsche GT3 - to avoid discussions about carbon build up, power etc

just kidding.

Disappointing!

Cannot believe they have the audacity to even mention a similarity to the RS2, in the above article.

It is about as far removed from the original 'RS' concept as possible.

Looks diluted, not sporty enough, but not discreet either. Too similar to the S5 - Just doesn't have the 'wow' factor.

Should have whacked the 5 cylinder in there, I feel it would suit the car better and immediately make it a much more desirable proposition.

Sure the V8 in our RS4's is fantastic, but the RS5 seems to be too similar to the RS4!

I suppose it will grow on everyone. £68k, however, is very expensive.

70 grand.

feck that.

you could buy a nice rs4 and have a mintball mk1 996 gt3 in tha garage as well.

i reckon you'll be able to buy these new for less than 60k less than 3 months after launch, and even then, you'll still blow your taters in the first 12 months.

when they are 40k, RS people will punt.

my prediction anyway.

Spot on JT.

It thinks it's a Porsche.

BMW made the mistake by pricing the M3 CSL to rival the 996 GT3 (just because @ring lap times were about the same), but the price dropped from it's 60k price tag to £50k within weeks, and now lanquishes at around £30k
