Just done 400 odd miles on the S4, have noticed when sat in traffic there is bit of a shake/ vibration at idle, is this normal ?

With the bonnet up can see the engine vibrating ever so slightly.

Mine doesnt. Is yours brand new?

Its 3 years old, probably needs new spark plugs have read on audizine that can cause a shake and they probably have never been replaced.

There is a big post on this (what I call a problem) over in another forum. I have it too and it was one of the first things I noticed as I put my car in Nuetral when I hit traffic lights..

It's terrible and for what these cars are, should not be doing it at all!

When in Drive and foot is on the brake it doesnt tremor or vibrate same when it's cold, only when engine is warm and in Park or neutral.

Mine does this too. S-tronic, sat at lights in N and you get that little tremor, in D with foot on the brake it's smooth as silk. Just had the plugs replaced and it's still there.

Not bothered by it to be honest, assuming its just down to resonant frequencies. I'd rather that than flabby engine mounts.

I have the same on my manual. Small shake on idle on a hot engine. Does not do it when cold. It bothers me sometimes and others it doesn't. Would be interested in that link though to see if it is an issue. Anyone spoken to Audi about this. ? Seems common.

I ahve this issue also when coasting to a stop and traffic lights is 1st gear and its so annoying

I took my car to Macclesfield Audi and their response was 'its normal'

I can se this being normal at all, others have said it could be the downpipes or engine mounts or fly wheel

I can replecate this by holding the revs just under 1100 rpm and the whole car shakes, until Macclesfield Audi have another S4 in without this issue they said its normal
