Hi all,
Well after selling my B7 RS4 I replaced it with a Q5 but missed the grin factor too much so sold that and now have the pleasure of a stage 2 tuned B8 saloon.
Unfortunately it had been a victim of theft and has been standing for 6 months so I've not yet had the pleasure of comparing it to my RS. It still needs a few small jobs before it's on the road but looking forward to it.
As per rule#1 I'll post pics of it once it's sorted ie: wheels changed and a good valet.

Hi mate,

Welcome.

Sorry to be a donught but do you mean it was stolen then recovered? I didn't know what you meant by easy theft.

Hi,
Yes it was stolen by breaking the window and reprogramming a key. Was then missing for a few months before being found on false plates. Luckily they hadn't trashed the car so needs very little to sort it.

Cheers for the welcome.
Yes, they are theiving t***s and there seems to be more and more of it happening, and all using the same method.
It's so far cost me £4 to modify the OBD plug so it can't be done to this car again.
Looking forward to getting it on the road and see how a stage 2 S4 compares with my old stage 2 RS4.

Welcome.

What mod did you do to the OBD? Relocate it behind the fuse cover or some form of security cover.

Removed it completely with the use of an in line connector so if I ever need to use the OBD I just plug it back in. Very simple but very effective.

How do they program a key via the obd port?

If its that easy I'd be interested in taking your route and removing the port.

Have you got a pic of how yours looks with the port removed?

Thanks

Mat

From what I've read up on, they use a blank key in the dash then plug in a hand held tool via the obd and reprogramme the new key to the car.
As far as how it looks now, there's nothing to see anymore.
I'll post some pics once I've tidied it all up.
