Nick, it's only on wot that I can notice more sc whine, I think you might be better off with maybe an apr Intake http://www.goapr.co.uk/products/intake_ ... 0tfsi.html

Isn't that what ringa is running ?

Or you could get a stratmosphere intake but they are a bit too loud IMHO.
I only have the Stage 2 carbon pipe, rather than the whole airbox, as all I wanted was a little more s/c whine. As it happens, although it has increased the s/c noise slightly, it really isn't that noticeable. Enough to make it worthwhile in my book though. I did not go for the whole Stage 1 kit, as it's very expensive and unlikely to make much of a performance difference. Getting close to making a call on that APR RSC exhaust though, as that might be the vital bit my ears are missing....

Oh yes, the pipe looks wicked as well.
Where are you going to source the exhuast from? I enquired of Tuningwerks (Apr dealer hear) and they quoted something silly like £2300. The exahust is listed on APR's US website for about £1300 after exchange rate, so it would still be about £4-500 cheaper to import one yourself from the states even after paying VAT, import duty and shipping by my calculations.

Tuningwerks were the like likely candidates if I'm honest. I have become wise to the seemingly easy and cheap US options, as I got stung on some photographic kit last week that added precisely 27% to the US$ cost. That will probably even things out. We might be able to get a discount off Tuningwerks for 2 though :D

I need a car first!

But still £1300 + 27% = £1780 = shipping from the states - say £200? Still cheaper than Tuningwerks by 300 notes!

I see from the audisrs forum that MRC have just done some work on a B8 S4 and squeezed 480 out of it

Astounding

Not sure the etiquette on linking to other forums so I won't but perhaps the owner is on here or Doug can give us an overview for the folk on here.

Mine's still 4 weeks away from delivery but news like this is making me even more excited :s4addict:

Been to MRC

Post by saintS400 » Wed Feb 13, 2013 11:54 pm

I am late coming to this discussion but thought I would add my cars figures after it's visit to MRC in December.

I went for the stage 2 with pulley, air intake pipe & filter change which has given my car 480ps (474bhp) & 584 Nm of torque with the standard exhaust. Doug & his team did a fantastic job & worked hard to get everything just right before letting me drive away. And what a difference over the MTM M-Cantronic I had before. It is a different car.

I took it back in January to get the ARB's, shocks with coilovers & lowered to enhance the experience. As standard it was good but now feels much more planted.
S4 B8 MRC stage 2 map, MRC custom supercharger pulley & high grip belt, MRC high flow air filter & silicone intake pipe, MRC cooling upgrade, Bilstein PSS9's, RS5 Brake upgrade, H&R ARB's, MRC gearbox re map, Supersprint cat back exhaust, Michelin Pilot Supersport tyres. 500.7ps 596nm. Now sold sadly.

Are u waiting for the car to be built?

In which case, we will need to wait for a bit after collecting our cars.

MRC are working on a remap for the newer B8.5 face-lifted S4s. I suspect it may take a couple of months to crack the revised ECU.

That will give you time to run the car in nicely.

That's my line of thinking as well...perhaps we should meet up at MRC together?

I'd bloody love to and one day I'm sure I will however I'm too much of a wimp when it comes to warranty. Even though I tuned my 2.0T straight away. I think it's the thought of how much will this cost if something goes wrong.

You're definitely tuning yours then?

I'll deffo be doing mine. More a case of 'when', not 'if'.

The main considration being obviousy MRC can't do the facelift yet. I have however spoken to Evan @ APR yesterday and he is going to ask at their HQ what their timescale is. I know MRC are the favoured route here, but APR are a reliable brand and their stage 2 with pulley is no slouch. I'll report back with more info.
Lots of rubbish cars slowly progressing to a nice shiny S4

Do you mind giving us a rough idea of the cost on yours please?

Thinking of going to a B8 from E92 M3.

I don't know if you still need this information but it was £1600, but I also needed 2 new Lambda sensors so cost £1900 in all. Suspension work was £3k.
