B8.5 RS4 Bumper to fit B8 NOW with PICS

Post by robokn » Thu Nov 20, 2014 5:38 pm

Well as the search for an exhaust continues, I have found a supplier of RS4 B8'5 shape bumper to fit the B8, can come with the grill or not
I am hopefully getting mine early next week, into paint and fit, Can't wait will make the front of the car a lot more menacing

Got it from this guy same guy I got the front grill off and that is great quality

Get rid TBH and them code them out or just zip tie them out of the way, same as all those who have done TTRS conversions

Looking forward to seeing the results of this! Nice one Rob.

What's the deal for those with parking sensors? I can see the holes in the grille but not the bumper.

Makes sense, cheers. The sensors are in exactly the same place on the RS4 as they are on our cars so that should be fine.

Looking at the advert on the Xenonz website (http://www.xenonz.co.uk/audi-a4-b8-08-11.html) the kit comes with foglight delete modules so fault codes won't be an issue. I rarely use the front spots anyway, and when in thick fog recently they didn't help at all so losing them isn't a big deal IMO. However, the secondary air pump sits behind the driver's side foglight grill which isn't very pretty, hence why that grill on our cars is solid.

I've got two more questions:
1. If we already have an RS4-style honeycomb grill, can this be excluded from the package (and the price reduced)?
2. The kit appears to include a new crash bar. Is that because the new bumper skin requires different mountings, or because the original silver one would show through? If the latter then I've already painted mine black so can this be excluded from the package (and the price reduced)?

I'll ask the seller and let you all know.

The grill can be deducted, and the crash bar is black 'cause the other one is silver, well mine is now black stone chip paint
Where is the RS4 secondary pump fitted, may just have to grin and bear it, will see once fitted

On it's way to me so will have it monday with a view to getting painted ASAP

Nice. This is confirmed by Xenonz:
...you can have it without the centre grill no problem just reduce £200 from the price

robokn wrote:...the crash bar is black 'cause the other one is silver
That's exactly what I thought! But this is what Xenonz said:
...the black crash bar is designed to work with this bumper

I've replied asking for clarification as to whether the crash bar really is different. I really can't see why this is necessary!

Secondary air pump on the S4 is bottom left in this photo (which is showing off APR's larger charge cooler):

Not pretty is it? MRC offer secondary air pump removal (complete with coding to prevent fault codes, all at a price of course) which opens up possibilities for brake cooling or an additional cold air intake, so if it looks hideous you at least know that there is a solution besides blanking the grill.

Good find mate been looking for a more aggresive front bumper for a while.

Did he get back to you regarding the crash bar? I am in the same boat as you, already got his honeycomb grille so crash bar is painted black.

Look forward to seeing it fitted, if its as good quality as the grille he supplies then it should be OEM fit

Get some pics up of the test fit if you don't mind mate, particularly were it meets the wings and bonnet. Cant wait to see it haha, should transform the front end! :blackrs4:
