Excellent news mate

Mine flew through the day I picked it up about a month ago now, they forgot to do it during the week and had to get it done before I got there
I think Audi learnt their lesson from the C5 and over engineer the C6, which probably goes some way to explain why this beast tips the scales at over 2t

Still, helps it handle the 700bhp, 200mph + which is easy to get out of them

That still makes me laugh, an estate car that can do over 200mph and I own one

Great news she passed, mine also sailed through on Tueday, bearing in mind I think mine a had tougher early life than most

, I am well chuffed
While the car was in I asked them to investigate a tinkling noise at slow speeds when turning (sounded like a bearing starting to pick up, but could only hear it if the windows were open) and sure enough when they checked, a technical document had been issued by Audi on the problem of rust on front bearings on some A6 and A8 models. FYI no play, so was not an MOT failure.
All sorted, and both this work and MOT FOC, top guys in the service department as Stafford Audi.
I lurrrrveeee this car

Strip down, remove wheel bearings, depending on condition, either clean up, repack with grease and re assemble or replace bearings.
On mine the noise was either a light mettalic tinkling sound with a defined click sometimes when turning the wheel in a 3 point turn situation. But the noise could only be heard with the windows down, but if the bearings are starting to pick up it would only have got worse. The dealer did both for me.
RS6chris sorry to hijack your thread

Oh and forgot to mention, it is not covered under the Audi Dealer extended warranty, as it mentions rust in the Audi technical release, but is covered under the original 3 year warranty. It didnt make any difference to me as Stafford did the work "good will as a valued customer" without me asking

Any code for the bulletin?

I reported on this some time ago. At the time I appeared to be the first person to have the ticking wheel bearing problem. Technical Bulletin on this and sorted per Carbon's post.
Clearly a weak point on the RS6 if quite a few of us have experienced this.
Mine also sailed through it's MoT recently.

Sorry Dave, I was in a bit of a rush when I picked the car up and didnt get the code. My understanding is that it is for some A6 / A8 models not just the RS6

My MOT is due - do people use Audi for this job or the local man in a boiler suit?

Audi.....only because you get the £750 "warranty" for your next MOT for free.....meaning if theres anything requires attention next MOT Audi will pay up to £750 towards it...No brainer for me.
Plus any service bulletins/updates will be done at the same time i assume??
Ive always had good service too form my local Audi dealer and have a good relationaship with then too.
