The saloon became available in Dec 2008, and the C6 got a facelift C6 - Brochure was not updated until May 2009 - Spec changed only slightly - basically it was the 3G MMI, Price went up again

The 2G to 3G differences in easy to understand are ....
2G has a 6.5 Inch TFT Colour Screen 1/4 VGA - 580 * 240 resolution - 3G has a 7 Inch TFT Colour Screen VGA - 800 * 480 resolution
3G has dynamic Radio lists (it lists the radio stations its "seen" lately)
2G plays MP3 from CD only - 3G plays MP3's from CD, SDCard. Also plays DVDs on the screen (when staionary unless you hack it with VagCom)
Both have Connectivity for MP3 players via USB, iPod interface and Aux Audi (check you have both the USB and iPod Cables in the car)
2G has a max of 160 Directory entries in the telephone list - 3G has 2000. 3G does not need voice training to call (its pretty good at guessing the "name v spoken name" - 2G needed training with voice tags for the telephone directory
2G has 2D and Birds eye mapping for Sat nav. destination entered by spelling the word - 3G has 2D, birdseye, 3D terrain modelling and faster graphics, Destination can be entered by voice commands

Good stuff. One minor edit, 3G cars were available earlier than May, I'm Feb 2009 with 3G, must've been one of the first.

good point doodlebug .. as mine was built Dec 2008 and delivered Jan 2009 (but bought in April 2009) and is 3G .. the may date was based on they rev'd the price list / guide ..

OK 2G to 3G Upgrade was Dec 2008 however 2G cars where bought well into 2009 as Audi had a bit of floor stock and Uk was in a recession

True but they are the only ones I can find of a clear 2G and 3G layout .. if a 2G owner can send me a pic of their console showing "lack" of joystick and also CD aux button .. I can photo mine and then update to show "proper" RS6 consoles

1. I thought the three way adjustment on the suspension via mmi was a no cost option?

2. Can someone add a list of the optional extra equipment?

3. Has anyone actually seen one in Monterey Green??? Any pics?

Variants spelling corrected .. (I agree was wrong should be fixed)

as D_K says yes we all have comfort / dynamic and sport settings on MMI - Audi called it "Dynamic Ride Control (DRC) Sports suspension system with 3-level control" in the standard features I listed..

never seen a Monterey green Car and I am glad of that

Will do options list and also a pricing list by year in next few days.. that will confirm the DRC "features"

+1. I'm suspicious of any exec car in such a colour, the last green 5 series I saw was da rozzers.

I'll try and take a pick of my MMI control buttons as they are very different from shown above, silver for a start. Also the CD/AUX is actually Media even on the 2G as it also controls the AMI, CD and TV. Having said that I wonder if that is true if the car isn't fitted with TV? I guess it still will be Media as they were all fitted with AMI I believe?
