Hey Guys
Getting some work done to my car, oil leak due to a broken vacuum pump, but due to the size of the engine, any work requires it all to come out.
Managed to get them to take some pics of the beasts heart. I was pretty impressed and thought I would share them
First time I have seen this part.

Quick update on the the RS6,
Cause for the oil leak was just a basic connection part failure. Wasn't a huge leak and would only happen after it was running for several minutes. Once engine was off the leak stopped, which made it annoying to find. I was told the seal for the oil pump of the dry sump system was the culprit and the pump & seal had to be replaced. Audi warranty covered for it so I wasn't that fussed on replacing the entire part.
But since then the car has been back in a few times, think I am just unlucky with this car

. cracked radiator. which was a epic drama to get replaced, Dealer ordered the wrong radiator by accident and only find out after a week and then couldn't find the right one anywhere, as they where out of stock even in Germany.
Coolant pump cracked and leaking, this one was easy to find as the engine bay was covered in white dots all radiating from the coolant tank.
Leaking front shocks, these failed a WOF here in NZ, so had to be replaced and yet again parts had to come from Germany.
Encase you are wondering if some of this is due to the driver, i did wonder that too, I don't thrash it .....much, its my daily driver to work and back, around 60km a day. And two or three times a year I take it for a blat on the track. Other then that Its very well looked after, I even asked the dealer to tell me if its something I am doing, and they said these parts are just luck, and some could be contributed to general road conditions, But very little I could do to avoid them, just luck of the draw
All in all finding the wear and tear on the RS6 to be quite epic and not keen to keep it after the warranty runs out. Maybe it just a bad egg and others are having a better time with there RS6.
But Audi did stand by me and fixed and replaced all of these without any fuse or questions under the warranty, so in that aspect I am very happy with the brand. and more then happy to stick with them. And hope I have some better luck with the next car.
