Hiya folks. Thinking of replacing the RS4 with it's big badder brother
Camberley have an '08 grey avant RS6 on their books. Anyone had a wee nosey round it or know anything about it?
Harrogate have one too.
Anything in particular I should be asking about them?
Many thanks

Seal Grey RS6 Avants are cool. (Not that I'm biased.)
That Harrogate one looks like a bargain next to the Camberley one, doesn't it?
11 months newer, half the mileage, same price. I assume it has the HD sat nav too, with it being a 2009 model.
I know which one I'd be looking at first.

Well stop looking. Start buying.

I came from an RS4 back in January and even though I loved it, I don't miss it at all.

the Camberley car is my old car - nothing to fear it's bloody fast but has a full audi service history and has new discs and pads fitted by Crawley Audi within the last 1k miles. i've swapped it for their 5 month old demonstrator because i fancied a sunroof and one of the last produced cars. it has dvd satnav, but the only differnence with the latest one seems to be graphics, it still doesn't have decent postcode recognition, what a joke.

reg no OE 08 AOH - it's been to the 'ring only once (as a suppiort car, only did 4 wet laps), and cherished - great car, loved it.

I'm flippin' trying!!! I got a bollocking at work for being on the web so much today
No pain no gain!!!
Waiting to hear more info from dealers........
New house & renovations mean it's about my upper limit. Finance looks gash due to expected future values. Love the look of it and the quality of the thing but common sense has to play a part somewhere.
GTR will hold its value better by the look of it so could work out considerably cheaper.

they bought it in at 50 minus 5 (with a partex at 70 minus 5) - lets not be too harsh on the dealer, they have to make a living after all.....

Issues the C6 RS6 have so far seen.. to be honest .. pretty much nothing
* The Headlight Condensation problem - There was a recall on replacing grommits on them.. but many of us ended up with failed headlights in the end due to DRL complete failures
* Ceramic Disk Recall - Obviously only affect cars with Ceramics
* Most Audi Service Dealers are naff (LOL)

If you decide on the GT-R just be aware of the pedestrian impact protection system, if this gets triggered on a slow speed impact it will cost more that £10k to get fixed. The car doesn't have enough clearance between the bonnet and the engine for pedestrian protection so the bonnet has pyrotechnic charges to raise it instantly in an impact. This breaks the bonnet hinges and generally causes quite a bit of damage, hence the huge repair bill.

Have visions of a road runner style cartoon where the pedestrian gets fired into the air after setting it off!!!
Don't crash or have protected no-claims insurance, simplez.

Personally I think GTRs will hit a price cliff in a few years.. from what I read they are "cheap" to buy but have huge hidden service and repair costs .. We all have read the Launch Control stories and now the US Class action suit on it has given Nissan a out on warrenty claims .. That will ripple its was into the rest of world and the uk.. There are horror stories re costs of replacing Transmission oils and every detailer I have seen who has seen one says the paint is so soft it swirls and scratches if you look at it and its not that thick, so they have limited numbers of time they can tidy one up..
Therefore I think in a few years its running / repair costs will rocket and its looks will get shabby very quickly sothe second hand market will fall over a cliff and prices plummet..
I guess I am saying if you want one only for a few years and a thrash .. get one now have fun and get rid of it before its worth not a lot anymore

Yeah, but if you look after it and don't do crazy miles (I don't) it'll be worth a premium. (same as a good RS4). They have developed new software for the tranmission (in 2010) cars to stop the problems apparently and this can be downloaded to 2009 cars as well. I've seen how much it costs to service / get parts for an RS Audi and they're no Vauxhall

Have a little look on the autotrader page and see how much a good UK R34 GTR will cost you. Try this

28k for a 1999 model?? That's pretty good in my book.
