Condensation in headlights (a bit urgent)

Hi guys,
Sorry for starting a new topic on this but I needed to ask a question about the service you recieved regarding the condensation problem with the headlights.
I noticed yesyerday that my offside headlight has got the dreaded condensation in it as a lot of you have already had.
I've just spoken to Audi Hull and have been told that I have to take the car in to them to have it assessed as wether the condensation in it is deemed an acceptable amount to warrant replacement or if it is within there accepted parameters.
As you can imagine I was bloody annoyed at this and told them that you don't spend £80,0000 on a car to have any condensation whatsoever!
I also told them about how it is a known fault and I have already had the rubber gromets replaced as part of the recall so obviously now needs the full unit replacing. I was then told "very sorry but we don't make the rules, Audi uk need me to take the car to them and it needs to be photographed with the condensation and sent off for approval.
Typically, the condensation has dried up today. I told them this and was told to take the car when it reappeared.

I'm just about to send an email of complaint to Audi uk, but need to know if you guys had to go through all this messing before you could get the headlight replaced?
At least then I am armed with some ammunition to present to them.

Thanks guys.

Hi Holmax,
I live in Kuwait. I know for a fact that there's a recall on my car to install new rubber around the headlights. I have no clue as to why there's a recall and whats wrong with the headlights, nevertheless I'll ask the dealership and get back to you on it.

I'm not in the UK, but in my experience with Audi Italy and Germany it depends A LOT on the dealer.
After all they are the ones giving the info to Audi UK and Audi it's not a government body. They have rules, but it's a business a they can decide to be accommodating or to hide behind some BS "company policy". My humble suggestion would be to lean on them.
The squeaky wheel gets the oil ;)

I've had to have both mine replaced.. First one failed I discovered after the DRL failed and was before the recall . when I took it in to get the DRL lights fixed and the recall did they replaced one of the headlights .. about a month later I noticed condensation in the other headlight and called Reading re asking them to look at it after the recall.. When they had it they volunteered that headlight exchange .. Since having both done I have seen no more condensation in them.. Hope that helps ..

If you don't mind, I'm going to print those pictures and pass them off as mine at audi to save me messing about waiting for mine to do it again.
I don't suppose you have any pictures of the other side misted as well that you could post.
A quick bit of editing in photoshop will soon get your car the same colour as mine ;)
