Im at a real loss !!

Will the new RS6 be good enough to justify the £50k diference in RS6 Ownerships ??

Has anyone put an order in ?

I put my deposit in yesterday for a Mugello blue Avant / 20 spoke alloys /
sunroof / optics pack

Will the new RS6 command a premium like th R8 has ?

Im also considering to return to the current RS6 Avant but do i go deep and go for full ownership in 2008 or not ??

You can pick up a well loved 3yr old model circa £30k ??

Id much rather be having this conversation with you lot rather than some eager Audi salesman if you know what i mean !!

Oh Decisions Decisions

To be perfectly honest, I would hold back. Id wait to see what the car drives like and how it feel before you make your decision. RS6's are not cars that will be sold like hot cakes. indeed I dont think the last one had a huge waiting list like the RS4 B7 had and the R8 has.

Then you could at least test drive a model, and buy one after a year when the price would have gone down. im sure a well looked after model a year later would be around the 60 K mark, and on top of that you would have a better idea of hwat you want. you would also get to pick a ar with the extras at no extra cost if you did want one.

On second thought, I think they might be doing limited numbers again and Ive just watched an interview on audi tv that says peole have already started to snal them up pretty quick.

Id still hold out to see if its what Id want. £77,250 lot of money.

I'm very interested, but I want to see if it handles that much better than the current generation. Then there's the whole DRC issue. Anyone have confirmation on it's weight yet?

a positively lardy 2025KG.

that makes its power to weight ratio worse than the old RS6 despite the 580BHP headline figure.

I have to say, the S6 i tried drove like a boat, even with sharper RS handling you can't get over the fact the 6 is a fat old girl, the bigger S8 tips the scales at only 1940KG thanks to its all aluminium construction and it only packs 450bhp but isn't that much slower than the RS6 appears to be on paper.

Shame, i expected more - they should have put the car on a serious diet and gone for 4.0 seconds and 200mph, as it stands its not enough of a leap forward to justify a 28K premium over a B7 Avant which is a far nimbler drive

Agree that over 2Ton is very chunky, but it's Power To Weight is considerably better than the the RS6 Avant & the RS6+. Both the older cars were only 100KG lighter than this C6, yet either 130 or 100BHP down on power so the PTW of the C6 is still a good margin better.

I'm holding out for the Saloon, as i've no need for an Avant & TBH i prefer the C6 Saloon shape (in fact i prefer saloons to estates full stop). That said, if the Saloon is over 1900KG then i'll not be following through with my order & will opt for something different next Summer.

As for the rest of the package, it will have an updated version of the current B7 RS4 DRC, which is awesome & has not had the problems suffered by the older RS6, it will also have the rear biaised Quattro as per the current RS4, so generally i think the drive will be considerably more dynamic with the new RS6 over the old RS6.

That's what I'm hoping!
