Pirelli RO1 Tyres

Post by Chippy1981 » Wed Aug 02, 2023 10:54 am

Hi

I’m struggling to find Pirelli R01 tyres for my RS6, is anybody running Michelins ? Car will be a daily driver all year round.

Running Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S in 275/35/20 XL with a Y speed rating and Michelin Pilot Super Sports before hand.

I've done multiple track days at Stage 2 without issue and great dry grip, I'm currently running 950hp and as long as the road is dry it still doesn't wheel spin in a straight line, dry braking is great and the road noise is minimal.

In the wet I treat the car more like an A6 and so, whilst the MPS4S/MPSS tyres are great, I don't push them anywhere near close to the edge to give a good example of how they perform in the wet at my power level.
***OLD*** Daytona C5 RS6 Avant - MRC'd - 500HP & 820NM (PistonHeads Link).

***NEW*** Daytona C6 RS6 Avant - MRC'd - 925HP & 1150NM (PistonHeads Link)

Thanks Ian.

Reassuring to know that the MPS are more than capable.

My MPSS lasted for about 20k miles and my current set of MPS4S have done about 12k miles so far with lots of life left.

I have done little over 20k kms on my michelins and they can't stand the greek roads anymore. Unless the tarmac is fresh they slip at first instance.
