Stage 2 with Wagner Intercoolers

Just got my car (2010 RS6 plus avant) back from MRC after lots of work (oil seal, coolant pipes, gearbox service, ARBs) and stage 2 tune.
On removing the front of the car they discovered damage to the nearside intercooler (leaking) and auxiliary water-cooled so decided to get the wagner intercooler kit which replaces both intercooler and watercoolers
The original watercoolers are removed and replaced by 2 larger watercoolers fitted in front of the main radiators and the the much larger intercooler fit where the originals were. The bumper bar is also replaced.

As the engine was out I decided to go for MRC downpipes instead of just secondary cat delete.
At the moment I have left the stock cat back exhaust in place and this is limiting the power above 5250 rpm, but the torque is awesome and the car is still nice and quiet when cruising
747PS @ 5400 and 1059Nm @ 3400 with a lovely fat torque curve

Lovely work, I've been thinking a lot about this as my intercoolers are weeping a little.
MRC had mine at 715bhp 720ft/lb, standard engine apart from air filters and miltek cat back.
I'd be hoping for more than 750 with new coolers and down pipes though, or is that the expected figure??

Mine was 747bhp/781ft/lb, the maximum power was held back by the stock cat back exhaust, you could expect a significant increase with your exhaust. I may well do my exhaust and get it mapped again

Ahhhh that makes sense then, thanks for the clearing that up.

How do you find the crackle map? I assume you can switch it on and off as I'd be looking at adding it (once my cats are removed) but I don't think it's something you want on all the time.

Love it, but I agree completely, most of the time I have it off, just turn it on when I'm in the mood

How's it activated?? Do they add a switch in or is it a case of if traction control is off or you're in Sport then it's on?

Interesting.
I had the MRC Downpipes with secondary cat delete, but otherwise completely stock exhaust and IC's, and wound up with 770hp.
I think Doug did say a Miltek might free up a few more hp....

I was on a full tank of Esso fuel, and Tesco Momentum or Shell V power would almost certainly have liberated more, but decided to leave it as it was and I'll use Tesco fuel when i go back with the exhaust done
I think the intercoolers will probably have more effect in day to day running than quick runs on the dyno

Clearly makes a difference then!
I never put anything other than Tesco 99 or Shell V-Power in my car in almost 4 years of ownership....

Doug said could be over 30bhp difference not using Tesco 99 or V power
