Hi all

The air con packed up a few weeks back so had it regassed and serviced which hasn’t solved the problem.
Have now had it fault scanned and am getting the following . Can anyone tell me where the sensor is located and is it easy to swap over.

That might just be a latched low refrigerant pressure alert. Sometimes you have to clear old faults before the aircon will re-start, though I'm not sure if that applies here. It's not the sort of thing that's necessarily covered by a re-gas.

I'm not certain, but I think an open circuit sensor would give you a different value.

If you did have to change it, that would mean another re-gas. However if you go to a reputable garage, they should de-gas and re-gas without charging for the gas twice, as long as they keep records of you and your car. ATS did that for me.

The sensor pt no is 4H0959126 and here is a pistonheads thread telling you how to do it on an A6 (bumper has to come off) with some YouTube videos in it.

However the error code in your picture above is just a "low pressure" code, so if the aircon was recently topped up I'd get it checked for leaks before changing the sensor which may be reading correctly.

Quick look at my car - which has the bumper off - it's really easy to get to when the car is in that state. However, although the one on my car is similar, it's white and a slightly different design.

Your old sensor has been superseded by the new one as shown above.
