I am in the lucky position of being able to buy something quick and practical and have always loved RS Audi’s. The RS4 is too small but the RS6 would be ideal. I can spend up to £30k, which won’t stretch to a C7 so which items are a must and what do I need to look out for?

Off the top of my head (there's probably more):
In addition to the things you'd look out for in any car:
State of the coolant pipes under the RH wheel arch.
Oil pump seals.
If there's documented proof of the above having been sorted then that's a plus.
Condition of the brake discs - they (and the pads) are £££
Major sevice at least every 30K miles and gear box fluid the same - personally I'd want to see plugs and filters more often and oil at least annually.
Reversing camera is a must, especially on an avant - they're big. wide cars and the rear vision isn't great.
