Adaptive Headlight Fault

Hello Team,

My 2008 C6 RS6 has developed the usual Adapative Headlight Fault, and from what I gather from my Auo Electrician, it is a case of corroded wiring and needs replacement. As with most of us, I am not overly excited by the $3000+ price for a new headlight, and subsequently want to consider a few options, and hoping someone has some experience on this...

1. Can I just replace the internals of the headlight that are defective? Motor, Loom etc...? Part numbers?
2. Does anyone know of an OEM equivalent for the full replacement light and Adaptive Motor and Control Headlight?
3. Aside from the 10x LED lights on the RS6 Headlight, are the Adaptive Control systema dn mechanisim the same across the other C6 variants?
4. Is it possible to disable the Adaptive function and essentially disable the alarm that pops up everytime I start the car?
5. Any other possibilities?

Any helpful advice appreciated...

Thanks

It will be the wiring in the headlight cluster that will have failed. If you can get the headlight apart I would imagine that it would be easily rewired. But getting the headlight apart will be difficult to do without damaging it!

Further update on this...

I have been trying to source a replacement headlight but this far have failed to actually confirm the exact part number that I need to get.

There are an array of part numbers based on country of initial sale, left hand and right hand drive, etc...

Does anyone have a full listing of all the headlights that have gone into the C6 RS6 including the adaptive function, so I can Ensure I get the right part number?

Appreciate any information!

Thanks

This has all the headlights fitted to a Euro 2008 RS6. You’ll need the VIN and option codes to be certain of the right part number. Keep in mind, that “Left-hand traffic” means drive on the left. So look at those only.
