200+ mph runs anyone

Post by RS6-T28RPH » Thu Aug 17, 2017 10:41 pm

Right, before anyone gets all mardy about doing more than 70mph on the road and it being illegal blah blah blah then fear not young padawan!

This is not on the road, had a Facebook notification for a a 'On Your Marks' weekend via 'The Gentleman's Jolly' for £20 ticket entry to Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground on September 16th & 17th if anyone is interested.

Just to tease you in a bit more, the runway is just under 3km long and most stage 2 cars making around 700-730bhp can do 170mph in around 1km, not sure whether its the whole length of the run way available to use as its been some years since I was last there testing but I think IanH755 would be more authoritative on the matter than myself ;-)

A stage 2 car should hit 160mph-ish indicated if the circuit layout is unchanged from the past 2-3 years (don't see why it would but you never know) as you only use 2/3 of the runway inc the long braking area.

However the day itself is always a blast and for an extremely good cause but be aware that track is a stone-chip magnet so if you do it you *will* get at least one or more (I also got a chipped windscreen!) so be careful.

This was the track layout before -

Top tip on the stonechips!

Considering i've just chucked a reasonable amount into the bodyshop might have to get that 3m ventureshield chucked on before venturing out.

Have you been able to get your motor sorted Ian?

Mine only does 194mph on the clock, too shy of 200mph. Have fun and rinse your cars out.

I had 194 down here as well when mine was at 663bhp but it wasn't a formal day so had a bit more room. Stopping in time...we'll, that was interesting!
