Buy RS6 C7 for 50k or RS6 C6 for 25k + 15k on tuning?

Post by brucelogan » Tue Jan 10, 2017 9:18 pm

Hi Guys

I am new to the forum...I am considering my first tuning project. This will be my first RS6...

I was considering the C7 RS6 for around 50k but seem to be settling on the idea of getting the older RS6 V10 C6 for about 25k and spending 10-15k on performance enhancements like the MRC800 conversion...

What do you think?

C7 single everytime. I've been in 3 of the things so far, the third time left me dribbling just as much as the first.

If you are not fussy about having a full optioned car, there are some very well priced 2015 facelifts current on Audi Approved. And you don't need to hunt down one with the Sport exhaust if you are going to fit your own exhaust etc. And judging by recent threads on here, the 20s are currently a much safer bet than the 21s....

Just get the C6, and spend 2k getting it to 730ish and pocket the rest on an investment car.

Don't buy a car that's still got depreciation going on, no matter how much better the front bumper looks !!

and the rest, what about all the maintenance! both are great cars and you will never save any money on either however, as an overall ownership experience the C7 is a better bet mine has saved me £75 a week just in fuel over my C6. but for sheer drama and emotion that V10 is hard to beat.

however, the more I use the C7 I am growing to like it a lot. as standard it is an exceptionally fast car and I am glad I got one with air the ride is so comfortable. in terms of handling the C7 is on a totally different level to the C6 it does not feel as big or cumbersome as the C6 did. yes there are some very competitively priced cars around but I am glad I managed to get a well spec'd car you do appreciate all those added little extras.

having said all that I would say owning a C6 is a must just for that V10 alone!

In fact get a AUC BMW F10 M5 for about 35k, its better than both and maps well to !! however this is irreverent if you have a couple of retrievers !!

You could get an RS5 for £26k and then get MRC to drop in a C7 RS6 engine for around £15k.

Does the 15k include the engine?

You'd drop a C7 V8 into a C6 chassis? Don't you mean the other way around?

Not sure, in the B8 section someone mentioned that the cost of conversion was similar to Supercharging an RS4.

No, put it into the RS4/5 B8 chassis. Smaller and lighter.

C7 all day every day. I know some have tuned the C7 to 700+ but its an absolute monster in its standard form.

I havent driven the C6 but I think its starting to look outdated both inside and out.

Or why not just get a B8 and drop the C7 lump in it if you want to do that.
