No issue changing the sensor with the oil in the tank. The oil level is below the opening for the sensor. I changed my two weeks ago as it was leaking.

Cheers for that , just got it being serviced next week and it's packed in but only on the temp side which is strange

Hi
I have an issue with my sensor, how hard is it to change it? and do you have a part number for the sensor... how much did it cost please?
I can see the sensor in the oil tank, it looks tight i assume that you need to remove a few parts to get proper access to it.
thanks

Bumper and headlight removal required.
Sensor costs around 150 euro.

Assume V10's don't have that oil stick that you could check the oil "manually"

?
[novice user] Where (and how) would one check the oil level in the car?
Thanks.

These cars are "dry sump" so the oil is not kept in the engine when you switch it off like a norm al car but is instead held in a separate oil tank which does have an "oil stick".
To check the level you must run the engine so that the oil gets upto operating temp and then, on level ground, switch the engine off and wait about 1 minute before checking the oil tank level. If you do this when the oil is cold the level will look lower than it should and you will over-fill the tank.

Sorry for jumping in but my car is now telling me that I have low oil even though when manually checked it’s fine.
Garage says there are 3 sensors and Audi are unsure which one it is!!
Have any of you fellas had this problem and / or fixed it with the above part no. mentioned?
Cheers

95% of the time it's the one built in to the oil tank called the G266 sensor (combined oil level and temp). The Pt No is 420907660 and a new O-Ring is Pt No N90974501.

Mine can be a pain at times. Friday night - 'please check oil level'. Sure enough, it was well down into the refill section on the dipstick, so I topped it up to just above the mark.
Tonight, 'please check oil level' but this time it was only just under the line.
That seems to be it's usual method of operation in my car, two warnings within a few days and then nothing for weeks.

Hard to get to and bugger to check... could be down to faulty (or loose) connector.
I'd suggest to replace at the next oil change.

Mine is definitely intermittent too, will get it swapped over at the next oil change
