Re: advice for rs6 v10
the more I search the more I get put off are they bad ?
Re: advice for rs6 v10
there are a few issues which affect the car the rest are part and parcel of owning a performance car but sadly you can't label the C6 a performance car it's more apt to refer to it as a supercar because it has genuine supercar pace. and thus supercar running bills! Your best bet is a forum members car but again not all forum owners are the same! Do your due diligence and all should be well and be prepared for the unexpected! If you seek to own and run this type of car on a budget then you are setting yourself up for pain and misery! It's not all bad trust me I now own a C7 and one day will return to a C6 again and I had my fair share of heartache but that engine is just epic. One of the true greats!

Your average takes a hammering after you go stage 2 , you tend to find you want to leave junctions slightly sideways in somewhat of a hurry
c6 rs6 avant- mrc stage 2 -current
bmw e61 m5 saloon
s3 8p stage 2

advice for rs6 v10
Hands down THE best car I've ever owned. The engine just dominates everything and whilst being a bit of a blunt object it's a battering ram of a car that scatters most others in its wake. Owning a legendary car really is something else (and the V10 RS6 really is a legendary motor-those that know will drool over it) and I love it to bits. It also has legendary thirst but it really is 'smiles per miles' .
Read up on the many forum posts on here...all you need to know is on this forum and the best advice bar none. There are some proper gurus on here who know the cars inside out.
Hunt around to find the right car. It took me 3 months and 5 cars before I found my one and that was up in Glasgow. If you buy an abused problem child it will smash your bank account like no other!! They are expensive to run and maintain but so so worth it.

Re: advice for rs6 v10
I don't think the running costs are that bad to be honest. Yeah the mpg isn't amazing but that's a given. Servicing is pretty reasonable and big items like spark plugs don't really break the bank. Tyres and brakes are pricey but don't need to be if you fancy some ditch finders and non OEM products.
The biggest and most expensive common issues are the oil seal and coolant pipes and this will set you back a few G's.
Once you go to stage 2 and further then obviously the gearbox is taking more of hammering and I believe a few people have suffered gearbox failures because of this.
I'm currently running a stage 2 MRC map and everything feels fine (touching wood, not in a weird way).
Go in with your eyes open and make sure you either have a war chest or warranty to cover repair bills if they come along.
Good luck with your search and there's loads of info on here so swat up!!
