Rs6 close calls ( vs )

So since owning the Rs6 I've had a few plays with other cars on the road from new civic type r's to to focus st''s, rs4 b7 and b8''s and the cars done me proud really proud. However last week a mk2 focus rs gave me a little fright and while he never took me when I backed of he flew past at some pace backfiring pops of fire I can only assume it's about 450bhp which seems to be the normal tuning figures as when seeing it parked up does not look like it has a aftermarket intercooler, big brakes or aftermarket exhaust. Then tonight coming of a slip road with a 66 plate BMW 240i m sport I again had a moment where I thought I'm not going to take him...I did eventually but I had a moment..... looks like it can certainly shift....think a remap is in order...

Both those cars are 1/2 a ton lighter which makes a massive difference at lower speeds (<100mph) but once fast enough that air resistance takes place (120mph+) the massive HP advantage of the C6 really shows itself as the lower HP cars start to struggle to push the air aside and it's even better with a 700hp+ stage 2 car.

I came up against a 1st gen RS3 he had 1/2 a car length on me when we went for it and it was very close up to around 70ish and then no contest.

Same thing when up against a TTRS and C63 all close up to around 65/75 then no contest.

Best I've had so far was a 997 4S, we was up around 1XX and on a very long private road and I passed him with ease and he was gunning it because I could hear his poor engine screaming her guts off lol.

Stage 2 and 700BHP should clear any doubts :-)

ive had a good few runs these last few weeks.

R8 V8 - no contest
BMW M4, off the lights it was left in the usual black puff the 6 dumps out
recently saw something cutting threw traffic so set off after it, ended up being a MP4-12C, didnt get too much of a run but there was very little in it with me pushing him down the road.
Tempted to go 3" to get even more, howver leaving the house early every mornming might cause a storm with her indoors.

You see, I never get anyone up for a play in Kent, there's far too many morons doing 40mph on NSL roads or foreign truckers on the M20/M2 to make it worth while but I had a really good tussle with a well driven modded RS3 on the way back from a Santa Pod RWYB day a few weekends ago along the A45 Dual Carriageway.

Plenty of thumbs up from his wife/GF too when we split at the M1.

Closest thing I've had keep up (on a roll) well into 3 figures was a modded silver saloon 335i 2007. Ultimate sleeper. Not even an M Sport. When pulled side by side the ride height and big grooved brakes gave it away. Almost nothing in it. Off the line I was gone.

SL55 AMG on private road easily drove away from him from 60 onwards - but that is one good looking car.

The only thing that's come close was my mates Tesla Model S P90D ludicrous, the RS6 had the measure of it in all rolling starts but not by much. We only did one standing start and he had launch mode turned off and to 60 I had the measure of him by inches only. I suspect he may not have got it off the line as well as he might as I was expecting to have the RS6's proverbial ass handed to it! I've had a wide range of cars give it a go and fail including B8 RS4, M5(current one), M3, M4, M235i, 991 C4s (I think, they are all Beetles to me), Gallardo, C63 etc. Obviously this is all straight line stuff but as yet nothing has beaten the 6 apart from other 6's.

maybe you should man up and get into the 750ps group, might have to hand your bus pass in though....

Glad it's not just me!! The amount of "decent" cars I see out and about in Kent, and are either driven by the older lady, or the older man who just pootle around in it! Saying that though, I once had a Ferrari chase me from Maidstone over towards Gravesend and beyond once! Both having a little play!

Remap time if not already done and if done then something must have been wrong because you should have destroyed him 60/70 onwards.
