I'm happy to report my car has been to see the guys at MRC this week and it's night and day!
But while mums B7 was in a few weeks ago I asked Doug a few questions about the snap and crackle maps he said it's an easy ignition change in the map on no throttle and that was the last I thought about it, until I was on the way home from MRC and I was giving it a boot full in manual and blipped it in to 3rd and it sounded like an F-type that ate a bowl of Rice Krispies then got trapped in my car !!!! I'm in love, it makes both my girlfriend and I giggle every time!
Although a heads up from Doug or Ben would have been nice
Anyone think about it I would recommend it highly !
Cheers

Be warned, that this is nice for a while and then it becomes a bit of an irritation. There are some C7 folk having his mapped out as it can make you look like a right chav with it constantly popping.
You'd definitely want to be able to switch it off.

I only seem to get the proper pops and cracks it in manual ! When you blip a downshift at around 3k revs. Maybe it's not as intrusive in the c6, Doug did say the the ttrs and c6 owners are the ones that keep it. Apparently the b7 is nuts and borderline undrivable with that map. I got from MRC to Cambridge before I noticed it I think that says everything, or maybe in loosing the plot

This
As much as I like it...it sometimes grinds on me.
I like to drive in sport too.

Sorry mate just currently on my C7.
The problem I now have with it is....every chav with a four pot shitty saxo or vectra seems to be able to make the pops and bangs these days.
Don't get me wrong when I'm in the mood I giggle but sometimes....especially around town I sometimes feel like a dick when it's doing it.

I have to make my car do it... In drive it only really makes the muffled woofle noise then in sport and manual seems to be where it pops and cracks. I genuinely drove 90 miles in all sorts of conditions before I noticed it then when it's in manual it's easy to make it do it. I wonder if it does it more readily in the c7?

Aye, in sport and manual in the C7, and that's the issue. I don't want it guffing every time I lift off.
And it's crap for fuel consumption.

I'm running a non-res Milltek too so it's even louder!
Maybe I'm getting old and boring.
