Melboure Australia

Hi All,

Few questions;

I have the oil leak from the dry sump pump and have been quoted AUS$5.5K to repair. Any recommendations for mechanics in Melbourne Australia?

The ceramic brakes sometimes make a moaning sound under light application at speeds below 20 KPH, performance not affected, any ideas? Plenty of pad left.

Occasionally, within 10 seconds of pulling up for a red light, ect the car moves in the suspension, like someone as lent on it from behind. Anyone with this experience?

It has a APR stage one Map, anyone with experience of a upgraded maps from them?

Thanks in advance.

Oil leak issue can be done in Situ, otherwise its an engine out job theres only a few places in the UK that will touch the car with the engine in place, so $5000 is probably about right to remove the motor.
See if you can find someone to do it in place or bring the car over here! Probably be cheaper haha!
Sorry im not much help on that point.

Ceramics did have a recall if I remember correctly for this very reason, visit your local audi stealer and check if the recall was carried out on your C6

The suspension one is a weird one, if it feels like the car is moving forward then I’d suggest you look at your suspension bushes/arms/ball joints etc for excessive play, does the car only do this when the brake is applied or does it do it with the handbrake applied as well? That will help you determine if the "play" is front or back related.

Hope this helps a bit!

I've just had my engine out for this issue and corroded lines and speaking from experience your quote sounds OK to me.

My ceramics make noise on the first slow applications in the morning, especially when it's wet or if there is condensation on the discs. As soon as the water is off the discs they are fine. Occasionally they have squeaked a little at low speeds which is cured by driving fast and heating up the brakes a fair bit ;) Any squealing is just an indication that you're driving like a pussy ;)
