Non-RS-related: Hit it and quit it.

Hello,
First - I realize there could be better forums to post this Q. But I believe there's a wealth of experience in here so I'll give it a go. (Also I'm lazy AF).
I'm looking into relocating geographically for a couple of years and looking into aquiring a fun car. I'll be driving it for 3-5 years, then sell it off.
I'm looking for a car that is both fun and reliable, and can take a good beating. Price shouldn't be "too much".
If you have a suggestion - bring it on! Pls motivate as well!
Cheers.

Mark 5 golf r32, absolutely bullet proof, quite fast, subtle and can't surely depreciate anymore, good build quality and cheap to maintain.

Looking at the two cars you have I'm not sure I could come up with something that would fit your criteria. My choice for a fun car would be a Lancia Integrale. I still miss my old one and I've always said one day I will have another just for fun

Ive owned a few integrales. Great cars of the time, but prices are now mental and there are better cars out there now imo.
Whats wrong with a B7 rs4? Can get a good one for 17k or so now it seems.
If thats too rich, how about an old m3?

We have but that's what made them so much fun. What a perfect excuse to take to the specialist and talk cars. I agree there are much better cars around now and prices have climbed. If you never owned one I would have to ask why??

This is what I love about this forum! Thanks gents!
My current cars will be kept. Looking into living 1/2 year in Sweden and 1/2 year in Philippines.
Golf R32 - good suggestion. Any generation/year particularly better than any other?
Integrale... Does not exist in Phils

B7 RS4 - Very nice cars indeed but over budget.
Have been looking at rx-8 and 350z as well. Anyone with any experience?

RX-8 - Massively under powered and feels gutless (no torque) but handles very well and looks lovely. It just needs 100hp more to be fun!
350z - Fat, slow and soft handling but looks OK. Needs a few engine mods (+40hp) & suspension mods which really improve it.
Driven each one for about a month (looking after friends cars).

Carabao... I'll probably get 3 or 4 just for the hell of it.
S2000 is a really good suggestion that I didn't think of! Cheers! Any more - bring it on!

The RX-8 is underpowered and uses as much oil as petrol. Having said that, they respond very favourably to having a turbo banged on the side and then go like stink.
If you are going to the Philipines I would guess that jap cars would be more prevalent. How about a Nissan Skyline R32? Prices are starting to rise, but are still fairly sensible?
