MMI dealer update

I currently have my RS6 up for sale and have been told by a potential buyer that it isn't running the most up to date MMI software??
Personally I have no idea and couldn't care less what software the radio and sat-nag are running as I bought the car for driving however it is clearly a big issue for some and I obviously want the car in the most saleable condition.
I have just been to one of the local Audi dealers and unsurprisingly the service sales person had no idea what I was talking about and had to go off and chat with a "master technician". The sales chap returned to say that it was impossible to say if there was an update "as different cars had different software codes on different build dates".. However I could book the car in for a full diagnostic check for £60 and if there was a software update it would be carried out..now the car was at the dealership for a service and plug change in August so I assume already had a diagnostic check then, but I'm now being asked to pay for another to see if a software update is available or not!
I suspect i'm being fobbed off and led down the garden path to open my wallet.
Any advice guys ?

Or, seeing as this is supposed to be a forum where owners help eachother out ;)

Probably a bit late for rtd, but might help others. :)

Personally, I think I'll just buy the 5 disc packages being sold on eBay for £25 - they include the 3 discs for the 2G software update plus 2 DVDs of 2015 Sat Nav maps that cover the whole of Europe. Saves messing around burning CDs.

thanks youngsyr, i'm actually still looking to do this although I have resurrected my old trusty pogo drive which is satnav and speed camera detector all in one.

Bought the very same package on my old RS6 which had 2G mmi, currently ordering the 3G sd cards to update again.... full postcode search is all im really bothered about.
and for the sake of £40 you cant go wrong.

So does the update allow full postcode on 2G?

I have just updated mine but it doesn't give full postcode? I will check later again. The Nav up date is still quite old any way as it obviously takes ages to get new roads on there systems.

No "full postcode" with any version of 2G for our cars. There was "talk" that you could hack the firmware to enable it but no-one ever proved it would work.
