Tuned c6 RS6 vs 2015 GTR - who would win?

Post by leehewitt » Sat Sep 26, 2015 10:00 am

Anyone on here had a run in with a new GTR?

My C6 has primary cats removed, valved MTM zorst, BMC filters, engine and GB map. One of my employees has just bought a 2015 spec GTR ( must be paying him too much) - was wondering if anyone else had come across one with similar set up to mine??
I will inevitably drag him soon enough but doubt I'll get him from the off. I've seen a few screen shots of 3 sec cars here but I've never held the revs for fear of destroying the GB
Interested in some feedback.

I am running MRC stage 2 at 730ps and my mates 2010 GTR is Lichfield stage 1 at 605ps. At Snetterton on the pit straight I just had the edge on acceleration out of the corner but really nothing between us over 120mph.

Thanks for the reply guys

By all accounts it appears there ain't gonna be much in it on the roll but he posted a launch against a 991 turbo S And has the edge. I've tried a run from the lights against the same ( with holding the brake ) and he kept his car length

Hi leehewitt, :bigwave:

The only RS6 that will go close to matching a gtr or Porsche launch control take off is a C7 RS6 on launch control.

We benighted few that own the mighty V10 RS6 will have to accept that our best 0-60ft time, no matter how much you stand on the brake (definitely not recommended) will be around 1.9 secs as opposed to launch control vehicle with 0-60ft of 1.5- 1.7 secs.

However we can bask in the knowledge that we have an extra 2 cylinders of an iconic engine that is used in the Audi R8 V10 and the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560/570.

A simple relatively inexpensive ecu flash with itg filters also increases standard 572 bhp to monstrous 700 bhp level. :jump_clap:

Having said all that, yes the C7 RS6 is a better car, but I wont be trading my C6 RS6 'darth vader' beast for a C7 RS6.

To me the C6 RS6 will always be my sleeper family sedan. 'An iron fist in a velvet glove' :D

Apologies for banging on.

cheers,
john
