Rear Lights

Post by AudiPartner » Mon Aug 03, 2015 10:23 am

I noticed on my newly acquired RS6 that the inner rear lights look very scratched, so I thought being inners they won't be too expensive to replace. So I've been looking around, and then I noticed there seem to be two lots of lights knocking about.

Most commonly, like mine, they look like this:

But then you can also get these, with wider clear parts:

What's the story, anyone know??

I believe the top is pre-facelift,

the second is post facelift, i.e 2g vs 3g cars.

More modern too. My biggest issue with this car so far is how dated it looks from the back. :boohoo:

On the one hand I thought I saw where you're coming from, but then on the other hand when a car manufacturer decides to go to the expense of a "facelift" you'd like to think that the vast amounts of money they spend on styling and design is done for a reason. Whilst I think they're still a bit dated (and basic compared to brand new cars) I think the facelift lights look more modern than the non facelift. And so they should.

My biggest gripe with the C6 RS6 is the dated looking rear end. I will be updating the lights.

Is that C7?

I do need to sort my rear wiper out as it's dropped too low and doesn't sit parallel with the screen. Apparently it could need a new motor to overcome it, in which case I'll get Audi to sort it under warranty next time it's in (along with the jammed + paddle on the s/wheel).

You can take off the wiper arm to move it up a bit so that it will sit parallel.

The jammed paddle has any easy fix

It will be a small tab of plastic that breaks off preventing paddle from moving.

Force the paddle away from you....it will feel as
If it's going to break but keep pushing....it will click out of its housing, the small tab of plastic will fall out of bottom and paddle will work again.....either live with it or get new paddle.
