Hi All,
I have recently purchased a Silver 09, 30,000KM Avant with a APR stage 1 map and ceramics,
The car is Bonkers in the power department. Thank God for car companies like Audi for producing such tuneable, irresponsible cars.
Couple of questions;
The brakes are fantastic but if they are wet or completely cold, they don’t “bite”. Is this normal for ceramics?
I want to improve the exhaust note, a lot of information has been written on this forum about removing the secondary catalytic muffler, are these the ones AFTER the oval shaped cats, with O2 sensors screwed in. They look like long small diameter mufflers? I was also considering the fitment of 2 eclectically operated 2 ½ inch exhaust cut outs in place of these mufflers. I have used these on previous cars, it give the option of a standard exhaust or a no muffler exhaust or something in-between, depending on the position of the butterfly, has anyone fitted these? Cheers

Hi and welcome. Can't help you on the exhaust question but I do have ceramics.floatdrop wrote:Hi All,

Yes this is pretty much how mine are. When I set out on a cold wet day they basically don't do much for the first application so it's best to give them a quick brake check to clear them once you get going. I also find on very wet motorway drives that if you haven't used the brakes for a while if you need to stand on them then they really don't work which can be quite frightening. I try to remember to clear them once in a while in the wet when on the motorway (and when I don't have someone behind me). Don't try to gently clear them whilst still having your foot on the accelerator, the car really doesn't like this and gets very confused!
All this said they are bloody great and I'll forgive them their couple of peculiarities for there sheer stopping power and lack of fade.

Agree with brakes comment; wet or cold they aren't that "super". Just get them heated and they're fine.
Exhaust seems like a good option - it it's legal. Wouldn't be where I'm at...
