**Bought back** :New owner of MTM RS6

Post by kent_andy » Thu Sep 04, 2014 12:46 pm

Hi All,

Well i pulled the trigger and picked up my very clean RS6 saloon MTM last night and drove it home 3 hours.

About the car;

Daytona Grey
30k miles
Black leather
Reciept ofr 9k spent at QST on the MTM 740 bhp which included;
-Sports cats
-Quad pipes
-ITG filters
-Remap

Thoughts of the car?

Driving;

Well, the way it goes it just WOW, hunkered down, agressive and similar to being in a partical accelerator, yet at 80mph on the motorway in comfort its like sitting in your favourite armchair with DAB radio playing. Feels very solid on the road and doesnt move even with cross winds.

Acceleration and changes are just WOW, took a bit of getting used to but have nailed it with paddles now

Cruising - averaged 24mpg over the 250mile drive home which wasnt bad.

Noise - It seems alot louder than milteks ive heard on other RS6's, but his might be down to the sports cats??

Had a couple of quick blasts and it just explodes from 80pmh, someone in a 14' plate 911 turbo is very upset today!

Looks:

Very contained, and being only 27 not the usual shouty car i would have, however with my own company its the perfect car to meet clients with many being unsuspecting of its brutal nature!

What next:
-Service booked into coulsdon Audi 20th september
-private plate to be added
-Potentially wrap the chrome to give the black optic look and spray the wheels - love the look of amar's car!!
-Take to MRC and see if they can squeeze more out and give the gearbox remap

Verdict-
With a family this is perfect for me to ferry them to nursery etc but then go wild when i need to, just trying to contain myself whilst driving as it is a sure license loser and makes my old evo 8 mr400 feel like a peddle car!

Will add photos later once home as it was dark when i arrived home last night.

This is either extreme coincidence or planet alignment!

I am going looking at an MTM RS6 saloon tomorrow also (see Newbie post just today).

Glad to hear it is blowing your mind. That is pretty amazing mpg figures too, that must be about mid 11's L/100kms. Cannot give out about that.

How does it feel on the road? Does it feel big and bulky or does it feel nimble, obviously not Lotus Elise nimble, but does it feel responsive. In terms of understeer, did you notice much of it?

Are you happy with the sound of the quad pipes? Is it too intrusive in the cabin or is it nice?

A 14 plate 991 turbo, that is pretty awesome. Was there much in it? That 991 turbo is a dream car for me so to hear it humbled by the RS6 is certainly encouraging given I may be buying one tomorrow.

Any other info much appreciated. Send on the pics. Oh, and did I mention more info :-)

will post pics tonight.

Not intrusive but noisey enough to remind youwhat your driving.

it feels big but the small wheel makes it feel sportier, but the steering is heavy, finds tramlines in the load so a bit fighty.

Understeer- not pushed that hard but you can sense its there as the front axel does feel wide, but then you dont dirve a rs6 like a exige :)

i saw your post so the money your saving will pay for that exige :)

Andy it's funny you say about the comparison with an Evo 8. I had an 8MR just north if 400bhp and like you thought I would never get the same feel of pure acceleration.
How wrong I was.
I would definitely recommend the black optics wrap. I had mine done a few weeks back on a Daytona and it looks great and half the price if painting them.
I'm teetering on the MTM map I'm only 5 mins from QST

390, better than I thought

Yeah, it was a hell of a trip from gatwick to Huddersfield but the drive home was so worth it, and it is very clean.

Booked in for oil service and inspection on the 20th at coulsdon Audi just before the extended Audi warranty kicks in
