K W Springs fitted.

Post by RS6chris! » Tue Dec 24, 2013 3:13 pm

Finally got the lowering springs fitted.

Long day of travelling yesterday and shopping!

Thanks to Martin and crew at Unit 20!!...great guy, great service and a great result too.

First thoughts.....

Car actually rides better than OEM!...crazy!

Honestly guys IMO this is a must mod to do.
Travelling back the 169 miles car felt great, very planted and a defo improvement visually of course.
I think I'm going to run in dynamic all the time now, feels like comfort with the springs fitted.

Cars slowly taking shape....wheels next!!!

Looking good. By all accounts they will settle in over the first few weeks.

How did you go figuring out the right adjustment, and do you have any measurements of your drop over STD?

Agree with all points.
Visually - better.
Handling - better than OEM!
I also run it in dynamic now - only comfort if I'm driving really careful.
I've got them almost "in the bottom", and considering going all the way down because I've yet to bump/scratch something...
Definitely worth it, I agree!

Good mod, one that I am still interested in doing, agreed they ride smoother on these having been in C6NVS's car.

Wrong forum, Panda. You need 951NM's of torque or more when tuned to post here.

Not sure on exact measurements.

However Martin said rear was set pretty low....front slightly higher due to V10 lump.

I'm over the moon with it...and as been said I can adjust at any time reasonably easily.

I do want a little more wheel poking into arches though....I was running 8mm spacers but not now because it looked really tight??...I need to try them to be fair...I reckon 5mm spacers would do job but can't get hubcentric ones?

As said a must do mod...you really get best of both worlds, stance/looks and drivability improved too.

Great looking Chris...

I've told you guys how good the springs are long ago and I'm running 22", slammed as far south as possible and drive in Dynamic mode all the time.

Classba

What's the stats for your wheels and tyres?

Offset
Width
Tyre size

I wonder if my spacers will go back on without issues?....although probs have to remove the bolt in the top if the front wheel arch liner?

Decked.

Is the ride just more compliant or actually softer? Being more compliant sounds good if it doesn't result in more body roll, or a reduction in composure when pushing on.

Must admit I removed the front plate the other day and naturally just looks more aggressive as a result, so lowering it is higher on my agenda now to complete the look.

Looks lovely there though Chris. Shame you're not closer, would pinch a ride!
