Maybe getting in a C6 '6....

Post by tartan_rob » Fri Jun 28, 2013 9:44 am

So I have been out of Audi's for almost 4 years now and have enjoyed being a lazy 1000NM Touareg boy but its time for a change. Touareg is awesome but I simply don't need it any more and if I am honest, as much as I really love it, I fancy a change.

I test drove a C6 when they first came out and wasn't that impressed. But I came from a stage3 C5.

What are these like day-to-day?

Whilst I am about to step out of the 6 I've loved it. 4 and a half years and it's not missed a beat. Simply put it is a monster.

Just be aware that it'll empty your wallet rapidly at the pumps as a day to day. It's OK on long runs, on short runs it is horrendous.

As doodlebug says, on long runs its cool, short and pointless journey will hurt.

as i dont use mine everyday i still get a smile but when i drive it 3days at a time it starts to get boring as its soo capable of everything. Its Fast and for the money you cant go wrong.

Im modding mine slowing so its something to look forward to, im doing my wheels and have the lowering kit from the last group buy, once that is done it will be paint and then stage 2 map with DSG map by MRC.

i dont regret buying the car at all.

Thanks guys. My mileage has dropped off to about 200mile/month hence why I can get into something thirstier.

Does a stage1 + gearbox map make a big difference over std?

Stage 2 + gearbox map is the way to go and the difference is huge.
Too much power is barely enough.

Hey up rob
Long time no speak....

Been a while since I posted on here but ironically you have been driving the same as me for a little while and looks like your heading in the same direction as me.

I would love an rs6 as my next after driving a V10 treg for a while.

Looking forward to see how you get on.

Is this the Stafford Audi car??

Sure does, but stage 2 is even more extreme/frightening.

Welcome to C sickness. :bigwave:

Hi guys. Buzzard - long time...

It was a Stafford Audi car - in fact ex-audi directors car.

It is a monster. I first drove one of these when it came out and I must say my recollection from then to now is very different. The car is awesome. I absolutely love her. Will be paying Doug a visit soon - every car I have had has been to him for a map....

Hey rob

How are you finding the change from tregV10 to C6 v10???

How is the ride in comparison ??
I would think performance, handling and ride are a dream compared......

As well as the treg we have a C6 avant which is a le mans 2 litre d and the steering has taken a bit of getting used to with it being electric power assist, is the RS6 more positive ??
