Don't get a flat in France!

Joys of travel. Nail in tyre, relatively rapid deflation, though enough time to get of the road.
Next step slop in gunk. As expected a waste of time.
Assist time....can you find a 275/35/20 tyre anywhere. Not a fooking chance, special order, two days. Now repair time....great.

Not good, hope you get it sorted.
Not a fix everytime, but might be worth the investment:

Thanks. Will take a look at that linky when I get a moment.
Now waiting for low loader. Lucky the wife speaks French otherwise it would have been a double helping of bumming.
Fack.

What a bummer. I carry a tyre weld and I bet that's useless if I need it.

Was on national dual carriageway but limped off to handy parking area just by junction.
Now at Renault garage in rural France, they are going to stick a plug in, job done. Lucky I have a pair of spare tyres at home!
I could do with a butt plug after being double bummed....I can't imagine having to do this without assist, you would be feckered.
Really nice guys, will lay off the frogs for a while!

we were en route to Normandy at the time.
Done and dusted within four hours, can't grumble at that really. Only pain was watching the rim in the tyre remover....too late, clamped without protection and paint pulled off. Under the circumstances it wasn't the end of the world.

Very good idea Ian. I carry a tubeless tyre repair kit and spare tyre in the boot when go on trips more than 300 kms from Perth, Western Australia.
The spare tyre takes up space, but otherwise I would have to carry a tent and camp on side of road and chat to the kangaroos and wombats while waited for help to arrive.
cheers,
john

I have been considering getting spare wheel to carry in the boot for a while now....especially as I travel to remote parts of the Scottish Highlands where mobile reception still doesn't exist!

Hi stirlingRS6,
Pretty obvious, but if you do carry a spare in the boot, suggest you make sure you use 4 turnbuckle tie down straps and tie to the 4 hook points in the boot. A full spare tyre is quite heavy and you don't want it sliding around.
cheers,
john
